@leachfortexas
-The national average to raise a child to 18 is ~$304k. 💯
-Texas has middle-class fathers($150k annual) paying $2340/month in child support(HB2643~2025). 👎
-Texas fathers get 47% possession time or “ESPO” (SB1936~2021). 👏
Half million in CS is diabolical work
@GregAbbott_TX A middle-class single father of 1 child pays $2340/month of child support in TX, and has 47% of possession time with his child. That’s over a $500k in child support while additionally providing for his child even more when they’re with him. That’s over $1 million to raise a child
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in Texas paying over a half a million dollar$ in child support thanks to HB 2643! We owe a huge thanks to @RepHaroldDutton and the TX House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence that voted unanimously for this obvious money grab! #txlege
@KenPaxtonTX Who cares when child support in Texas for 1 child will cost over $500k, and that’s with the non-custodial parent having 47% of parenting time. #txlege
@KenPaxtonTX@SaraGonzalesTX Thank you for uncovering fraud across the state! Don’t stop now! Let’s do a probe into Texas Child Support next! Audit the Family Court Judges!
@GregAbbott_TX 40 States use the “Income Shares Model” to calculate child support.
So is Texas just trying to be different or what? Is the state tunnel visioned on earning Title IV-D funding or just simply punishing families?
@KenPaxtonTX I’d love to be able to donate but unfortunately I pay child support for 1 child in Texas. HB2643 raised my CS from. $1840 to $2340/month even when I have my kid 47% of the time. 40 states use the “Income Shares Model” to calculate CS. Texas uses the “Fuck Over Fathers” model.
@DineshDSouza@RonDeSantis Grok: how will public services will be funded if it weren’t for property taxes?
Grok: “property taxes would be replaced by higher sales taxes”
@GregAbbott_TX Meanwhile nothing is taken into consideration when it comes to Texas Child Support Calculations. Doesn’t matter if parenting is shared 50/50, doesn’t matter what the income disparity is between parents, doesn’t matter what the child support money is spent on. Texas can do better
