For 69 years, Tilicho Lake🇳🇵(4,919m) was widely thought to be the highest lake on the planet.
That changed in 2019 when climbers discovered Kajin Sara (aka Kanjin Sara/Singar Lake) at ~5,002m in Manang🇳🇵overtaking it.
They're only 40km apart. They were in plain sight on Google maps (Tilicho top left, Kajin Sara bottom right).
