@sharghzadeh He's in Mecca. Most of the people you'll see there are from Indonesia, Egypt, Türkiye, India, Pakistan etc. It's very diverse, you don't need to "blend in".
@JohnnySmitmpzc@omar_dddg OK, Pakistanis make up 38% of Muslims in the UK. Secondly, there ARE Pakistanis in Arab countries; 2.7 million in Saudi, 1.9 million in the UAE etc and they live in peace there. Like I said, ethnicity doesn't determine someone being arrogant or unpleasant.
@JohnnySmitmpzc@omar_dddg When did I bring up Pakistanis? The bad attitudes the OP talks about are not exclusive to one ethnic group. It is an upbringing issue that brings about these narcissists. Their ego centric street subculture clashes with the Islam they learn from short form content instead of books
@reallubella@PaulSkallas I interpreted the post as: "People who read, no matter how often and the quality of the literature, often struggle more to generate real achievements because they believe reading is an achievement in itself so they settle for that instead."
@reallubella@PaulSkallas If you're talking about the pretentious crowd, then yeah they're not doing anything special. But it's still something and is 10x better than frying your brain with mindless algoslop. Even said moneygrab publications have some benefit in them.
@RamiSafadi93 In the US, career success isn't as tied to education as it is in the UK. I feel as if a bachelor's here is the baseline to access jobs that pay £30k ($41,000) or more. It's because uni is shoved in everyone's face and people do it because they feel 'left out'.
@RamiSafadi93 I agree. It's common to see the biggest simpletons running multi million dollar businesses, especially in the South. How do they even do it?
