HOW TO DESTROY YOUR FLESHLY DESIRE || APOSTLE AROME OSAYI
The cross can make you do without women. It can make you do without a car, even though you have the money to buy one.
For seven years, while I was in Lagos, God would not allow me to buy a car. He said, "Use the buses."
The time came when the desire for a car died. So if you come to me, dangling a car key, you are talking to the wrong man.
That place in my heart where the love for a car would have rested—the cross has affected it.
That is what it means to bear the cross. The only thing that matters to you is what Jesus is saying, is what Jesus wants, and you are available for Him.
So nothing can enslave you—a car, a woman, even beans.
There's a lady I met, she must eat beans by four o'clock. She must take beans. Now beans can control her. If you want to poison her, put poison in beans—she will eat and die.
But you see, what Jesus wants is to deliver you from anything that has the power to entangle your soul, so that you live for Him completely.
The two-point solution that Apostle Paul recommends to the Corinthians, the solution to all the possible ailments of church life, is one: the cross, and two: Christ.
That was the prescription he gave to the Corinthian Church. Because the Corinthian Church was a gifted church. They were moving in the gifts of the Spirit. They could prophesy, but there was immorality on the rise.
They were flowing with women. One even went and began to sleep with his father's wife—yet was still moving in the Spirit.
It was foreign. But he would end up sleeping with his father's wife.
So that was how the church was: very rowdy, very unspiritual, but highly gifted.
The prescription that Apostle Paul gives is Christ, and His cross.
So when a situation presses me, the way I respond can be threefold.
What Paul is saying is this: When the flesh is pressing and demanding a response, cast that desire to the cross.
When self is pressing for a response, cast that desire to the cross—paralyze it by the cross.
The only prompting you should allow is the one that comes from Christ, because that's your new personality.
"For me to live is Christ."

PRIESTHOOD
Shortly after our wedding, I started feeling funny. My husband looked at me and said “you’re pregnant”
Two days later, we confirmed I was pregnant
At our first scan appointment, the doctor said the pregnancy was not viable and I had lost the baby already.
My husband looked at me and said
“That baby is alive and well”
The next scan we did, we heard the baby’s heartbeat
At the 20 weeks anatomy scan, they said the baby does not have a nasal bone and that was a soft marker for chromosomal defect and that he most likely had DS.
My husband said “Every good and perfect gift comes from God. Our child will be perfect”
Weeks later we did a NIPT test that confirmed there was no chromosomal defect.
Immediately I got pregnant my husband told me, “I wrote in my diary last year that I had a son. You’re carrying a boy”
At the anatomy months later, we saw that it was a boy.
When my water broke at 26 weeks, my husband danced around my bed and declared “you won’t have this baby until he is fully ready.”
There were times I started having serious contractions even at 27 weeks .
I would say “Adewale this baby may come o.”
My husband would say “not yet”
I didn’t have that boy till he was fully formed at 35 weeks.
My husband wasn’t saying these things because he saw them happen o
He said most of these things as his desire for his family as the priest over our home
And time and time again I saw God honour his words
I don’t know who needs to hear this.
Dear man, as head over your home, God SERIOUSLY honours your words.
Speak life into your home.

Introduce the gospel
God provides for everyone. He rains on the good and the bad.
But much more He assured we Christians of provision. Jesus said God feeds the sparrows how much more us?
He will feed us. He will protect us. He will heal us. He will provide for us.
This He does because we are His children and He is our Father in heaven.
However, the problem arises when we make God’s material benevolence be at the center of the gospel’s purpose.
That is where the error comes in. If we make all Christ died for is our material comfort in this life then we are miserable.
So we can rest assured that God will provide for our needs but we cannot make such our hope.
Hope is something you look forward to. If riches, properties are our hope here then we are miserable since even gentiles have it.
The advocacy is that we shouldn’t make the material benevolence of God to be the focus of His eternal life He gave us.
Let’s not exchange the bread Jesus can give for the Bread that He is.
A part of me wants to read my Bible in a year, but with the way I study? One verse can hold me hostage for days. I’ll ponder, dissect, and digest before I move, year don end 😭
It gets how you take your Prayer and Bible study more seriously that life just becomes so beautiful and looking forward to.
You’re happier, your heart is more at rest, you’re content, and the quality of your life greatly improves.
Totally love it.
My baby wakes up once at night now
He starts fussing and I go over to his crib and carry him
Once I do, he just looks at me
Sometimes he smiles. But he doesn’t cry. He just looks up at me and starts licking his lips
Sticking out his tongue.
And so my son that is barely three months old has learnt what believers of donkey years are still struggling to learn
Faith. Trust
Because this tiny human already knows me
He knows my voice and my smell. We’ve done this routine again and again so he knows that when I come and pick him up, food is entering his mouth
So he doesn’t cry. He just opens his mouth and he waits
No wonder the Bible says that …..”to enter the kingdom of God, we have to be like these little ones”
Dear child of God,
Of all the times God has seen you through??
How come you’re so scared??
How come you worry so much??
How come??
Stop it
Receive grace to trust
Be like my baby. Trust God!
