There are already laws that have long mandatory sentences for repeat/habitual offenders. Unfortunately, they are often ignored by judges unless there is political value. We will never be able hold judges accountable for the crimes committed by the criminals. The only chance is prosecuting them for violating the mandatory sentencing laws they "are" accountable for.

North Carolina has two:

Habitual Felon (N.C.G.S. §§ 14-7.1 to 14-7.6)
* Sentence: The new felony is sentenced four classes higher

Violent Habitual Felon (N.C.G.S. §§ 14-7.7 to 14-7.12)
* Sentence: Life imprisonment without parole

The police department had a budget for the maintenance and care of those dogs. There could be a lot more here than just an animal cruelty case.
Where did the money go if not spent on vets, food and other supplies as intended?
Was the department and/or officer charging and expensing services that were never provided?

Why did no one else in the police department notice or report the issue during the five months?
Did he never go on duty with the dogs during that time?
Did no other officers even see the dogs during that time?

@DC_Draino Wouldn't the easiest solution be to start transferring these military personnel to remote US bases in the arctic, diego garica, etc. It may be difficult or unreasonable to bring serious charges against him, but a transfer could be just as effective.

EU taxes should be treated as a data/content/truth tariff. They want to reduce the importation of certain words or phrases in data streams from other countries.

If this stands then the telecoms, AIs, and other products could be assessed similar taxes for allowing the same words and phrases in conference calls, text messages, and other forms of international communications.

A lot of developers now days just pull their code and resources from opensource repositories anyway. I have used third party components based solely on recommendations and ratings without fully understanding the underlying technology. AI will just speed up that up and the selection process will not be transparent. It makes testing and verification more critical than ever.

You can verify this with street level viewing in Google Earth. The buildings, store fronts, and other street signs match.

@Yeahaboutthat3 Copper-based solutions are sometimes used to treat parasites and diseases in aquariums. Take care when introducing copper to water with fish or desirable bacteria. Too much copper can interfere with blood/oxygen chemistry and kill them too.

Perhaps it's really a test to see who is willing to work and respect the president's authority. Managers can observe how productive people are and how well they work with others. There are always cases and exceptions once individuals are evaluated but you can't manage what you can't observe or measure.
