Yes, time is a thief. My children will grow up & I'll have more time. But I'm also a better parent NOW when I prioritize my writing.

So, I'll keep fighting to have my cake AND eat it. I'll keep writing in the margins, and I hope you will, too.

This isn't a complaint or a plea for help, just an observation and empathy for those in the same life space: being a parent who writes part-time is HARD. Progress is necessarily slow, and sometimes I worry my chance is passing me by while I write in the margins. (1/4)

My outside life clamors for more of the space I've set aside for my writing while my writing begs to be the top priority. Shame usually tags along: "Writing is selfish." "You're failing as a parent AND as a writer." "GIVE UP."
