As Indiana prepares to replace retiring power plants while meeting growing electric demand, we appreciate @GovBraun's Administration for exploring solutions that shift the cost and risk off of Indiana's households and small businesses by allowing large users to Buy Your Own Power.

This week, @INdnrnews Secretary @SuzanneJaworow1 met with retail suppliers and independent power producers that build, buy and sell electricity with private capital, not ratepayer funding.

The discussion focussed on the #BYOPower proposal outlined in Senate Bill 272 that would:
✅ Attract private capital
✅ Reduce future utility generation costs
✅ Protect ratepayers
✅ Support economic development

These energy companies collectively serve 25 million customers and operate 150,000 megawatts of electric capacity nationwide –– and they want to invest in Indiana!
