اس سے یاد آیا کہ اسلام آباد میں جب عدالت کے حکم پر بلدیاتی الیکشن کرانے پر حکومت مجبور ہو گئی تھی تو قانون بنا لیا گیا کہ غیر منتخب شخص بھی میئر بن سکتا ہے۔ چنانچہ ایک ایسے شخص کو میئر بنا دیا گیا جس نے الیکشن میں حصہ ہی نہیں لیا تھا نہ کوئی ووٹ لیا تھا نہ اس کا کوئی حلقہ انتخاب تھا۔ نہ وہ اس کے بعد شہر میں کہیں نظر آیا

پھر یہ لوگ روتے ہیں کہ جمہوریت بے توقیر ہو گئی۔ سچ تو یہ ہے یہاں جمہوریت ہے ہی نہیں ۔ جسے جمہوریت کہا جاتا ہے یہ خاندانی اور موروثی ببندوبست ہے۔ چنانچہ نوجوانوں کے پاس سرے سے کوئی آپشن ہی نہیں کہ وہ اپنے ٹیلنٹ کی بنیاد پر سیاسی منصب حاصل کر سکیں ۔
ووٹ کو مزید عزت دینی ہے یا اس کی اتنی عزت افزائی کافی ہے۔
