Northern Nigeria is now a large keg of gunpowder as a result of high level of ignorance, poverty, hatred, and religious extremism. If not managed immediately, its explosion is only a matter of time, and I'm not sure the region is ready for the impact.
Terrorists are killing us every single day, but what netizens do is find the victims' religious identities in order to prove or counter a point, or even to create a new narrative. People now hope that the next victims should be those who fit their bias. We are in trouble.
You can belong to any party, rally behind any candidate, and analyze all you want, but do not rely solely on 2023 presidential election results to predict 2027. Statistically, the formula hasn't changed, but the values are changing every day. And in politics, 24hrs is a long time
@General_Ibbro This would've been the best approach. Now, the Senate has planted another bomb of distrust in them. Whatever Ningi aimed to achieve with his allegation seems to be coming to fruition because something is obviously fishy about the budget, and the truth is beginning to come out.
I had a very good meeting today with a delegation from @netflix, led by Ms. Shola Sanni, Director of Public Policy for Sub-Saharan Africa. The Director-General of @nbcgovng was also in attendance.
The Netflix presentation to us was very insightful, I was pleased to see their global reach; investments in Nigeria, in terms of financing and talent development; and their expansion efforts. I shared with them our mandate at @FMINONigeria, especially the national orientation aspect.
Iโm particularly happy Netflix understands that Nigeria is not only about challenges, but also opportunities; and are focused on amplifying and enabling those opportunities.
I urged them to continue to do everything to nurture and protect our values, stories, and talent.
One must have the intelligence of a tadpole to think only the Christians are targeted by these terrorists. I will take that you are smart enough to not confuse terrorists with everyday Muslims, from the roadside vendors you patronise to the neurosurgeons managing your brain.
In Nigeria, for instance, no group has been decimated by Boko Haram as much as Muslims. They have had their towns sacked, schools destroyed, farmlands seized, markets bombed, women abducted, communities massacred, and monarchs, clerics and elder statesmen assassinated. All by the Boko Haram cult you guys are quick to portray as Muslim ambassadors. If we all set out to treat every criminal as a representative of their religion, ethnicity or religion, none of us would live to see the end of the cycle.
Go to our IDP camps to see which religion has more adherents languishing there. Muslims are the majority there. Why would they destroy their peaceful homes and livelihoods to become glorified beggars in those cages? If these terrorists were spearheading a Muslim agenda, as you assume, donโt you think Nigeria wouldโve exploded long ago? Do you know what it means to have a religion that makes up about or more than half of the countryโs population wired to kill you?
Wait. What religion do you think members of the vigilante groups fighting Boko Haram are? These are Muslim youths risking their lives to keep all of us, Muslims, Christians and animists, safe. So, please, stop this dangerous attempt to justify glaring Islamophobia.
If you have the intention of pursuing your first, second or even third degree, it's better you start now. The best time to attend university was in the last 40 years, the second-best time is now. The future of university education in Nigeria is obviously not in favor of the poor.
That place you find peace and security, where you earn, spend and have access to the life you desire is your comfort zone and a fine definition of a โgreener pastureโ.
