Did this shii last week. Called my dad to check on him. He was telling me the situation of things on a particular matter and it required money to solve. it was urgent and he wasn’t telling me to intervene but I knew it was bothering him. I had like about the same exact amount in my account, just a little bit above it. After the call I sent the money to them. My brother, I’d do it again and again if possible. I cannot be alive and have a 2% chance to help my family and I won’t do it. If God says that I will go broke entirely by doing that so be it.

I’m awake by 8AM typing this.

I just woke up angry again for no reason and now I understand why. It’s this country, so many things are wrong it’s just terrible.

1. Government : We’re living in a country where our leaders are operating like the country is a family business. There’s no single empathy and concern for the citizens. We’re in a country where governor’s are more interested in pleasing the president than anything else, I have no issues with governors seeing off a president at the airport, but then taking another plane to go to london so you can welcome him to london again just makes no sense.

2. Security : The kind of atrocities happening in Nigeria, if it was in another country, they’d be a state of emergency right now. And it doesn’t look like any of the leaders are bothered. You can hear the news that 30 people were killed in a stare today, and you’ll just go on to play football 30 minutes later, because you’re getting used to it. It’s no longer a breaking news, it’s just another unfortunate news.

3. Money : I know the country is poor but the money worshiping is just too much, physically and virtually. You can post being suicidal and someone will still beg you for money in the comments. On the street, in your house, service providers, everywhere. It’s tiring.

4. Unity : No single unity as a nation, I’ve never seen a group of people so easy to divide in my life.. Even when united, we’re still divided.

5. No focus: We cannot decide on a goal and focus on it, our attention span is just too short to achieve something meaningful as a group. We’re always happy to use the act of the few to represent the whole.

6. Adaptations : This is one of our worst traits, the ability to just adapt to terrible situations, any small thing, instead of fixing the problem, we’re already looking for the alternative. What do you mean by I should change tomatoes with cucumber??? This is why all of us are short because there’s no nutrient in our body.
No light? Use gen.
No fuel? Use solar.
No safety of life? Please what should we use?

7. Education : The absolute disregard for any sort of education. We do not have enough positive examples of the result of education, or perhaps we just refuse to see it. It’s terrible. Like everyday, education loses its relevance…… Whyyyyyy????

8. No regard for human life : This is so crazy that it’s now a defence mechanism, you could see someone dying by the road side and everyone will just keep walking away, some don’t care and a lot are scared of being accused of causing harm to the victim. If you have an accident, the first set of first responders are busy trying to steal from you. It’s crazy. How long will it take to get the ambulance here? I’m sure you know the answer.

9. No regard or safety for women and children : Child marriage today, domestic violence tomorrow and it’s just not looking like it’ll stop soon.

10. No attention to detail : People are just used to doing terrible works now, it’s sad, from handiwork to professional workings, people just do the average and expect you to accept it, as long as it works. No arrangement, no process, nothing. You can take your laptop for repairs and when you get it back, two screws could be missing. I mean it’s well covered and all and now working, but why’s the screws not complete anymore????? Why??? let them fix tiles for your house and see how it’s just not aligned.

You know, when some people say Nigerians hate Nigeria as a country, I used to think it was just political talk or online exaggeration.

But Anthony Joshua’s car accident has finally made me accept a hard truth, many Nigerians genuinely despise this country.

An accident that can happen to anyone, anywhere in the world, is now being used by Nigerians to run down Nigeria, mock it, and push every lazy narrative they’ve been waiting to recycle. It’s painful to watch. Very painful.

What makes it worse is that it’s always Nigerians doing this to Nigeria. An American can have the worst accident, the worst crisis, and still wake up the next morning saying “God bless America.” In the UK, they criticise systems, yes, but they don’t hate the country itself or pray for its collapse just to feel morally superior online.

Here, people wait for tragedy like hungry hyenas. One accident and suddenly it’s “Nigeria is a failed state,” “never come back,” “everything is useless,” as if roads don’t fail, accidents don’t happen, and emergency gaps don’t exist in other countries too.

Criticism is not the problem here; hatred is. Some of you don’t want Nigeria to work at all. You just want disaster so you can feel smart, validated that “I told you so,” and important online!

There is nothing wrong with the PRINCIPLE of Federal Character. You cannot run a multi-ethnic country like Nigeria without paying attention to diversity and representation.

What we should advocate for is that the PRACTICE of Federal Character should be done with patriotism, transparency and predictability.

Under-representation of any ethnic group or state in public life should not mean “slots” for a few politicians to now flood federal positions with their family members, friends or people who may have bought the positions.

Properly applied, there is nothing wrong with the Federal Character principle. Indeed, it is absolutely essential in any diverse society.

Also, it is not antithetical to merit. You can still apply merit within representation and diversity. If State ABC is not adequately represented, you can find the best people from State ABC through competition and merit tests.

Every single state or ethnic group in Nigeria has qualified people that can hold government positions. We just need to ensure that they can emerge.

We are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news that kidnappers killed around 38 people who were abducted in the Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

This atrocity occurred despite their relatives paying ransoms for their release. According to reports by national dailies, most of those killed were young people. As previously reported, In March this year, around 56 people were taken from a village in the Kauran Namoda area, and the gunmen initially demanded a ransom of N150 million, later negotiating it down to around one million naira per captive. While 18 people, including 17 women and one young boy, were released on Saturday after their families paid the ransom, 16 of those released are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Tragically and sadly, 38 innocent people were allegedly killed by the criminals.

We urge the relevant government authorities to remember that ensuring the security and welfare of citizens is their primary responsibility. It is also crucial for citizens to report criminals living in their communities, as these evil individuals are part of our society.

May Allah expose the criminals, be merciful to the departed ones, heal the injured, and bring an end to this inhumanity. May He give their families the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
