A meaningful South-South learning visit with Rwanda’s delegation wraps up after a week of rich exchange—from LaQshya labour rooms and midwifery training to digital health and frontline leadership. Thank you to all partners for making this collaboration impactful and energizing.
It was a pleasure to receive today at @RwandainIndia the team from Rwanda for a debrief session after a learning visit in India. The visit was a South-South coop initiative and aimed at sharing best practices in maternal and child healthcare @MoHRwanda@UNFPAIndia@UNFPARwanda
Partners were also introduced to #KuraNawe programme, which builds on the YEAH! model by integrating health services including Mental health, #SRHR and #CSE within #TVET programmes enabling young people to make informed decisions regarding their health and future .
Through the #Aim4Change initiative - a South-to-South collaboration supported by @IndiainKigali — this exchange is helping Rwanda strengthen midwifery education, advance digital innovation, and accelerate progress in reducing maternal mortality.
Today, in celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, Sabrine took over the role of the #UNFPA🇷🇼 Country Representative, @DrAdelakin ,a powerful moment amplifying girls’ leadership and voices.
Led by UNFPA🇷🇼 and @RBCRwanda, the Rwandan delegation, including representatives from @RwandaHealth and midwifery training institutions, is in India for a 9-day visit to explore successful models advancing maternal and newborn health.
UNFPA India welcomed the Rwandan delegation to New Delhi for a South-South Cooperation learning visit, ahead of field visits to Udaipur and Bhopal to see India’s midwifery and maternal health innovations in action.
Partners held a Steering Committee Meeting for the YEAH! Model & #KuraNawe Programme , reaffirming the collective commitment to advancing integrated #SRHR & economic empowerment for young people.
The meeting reviewed progress & the end report of the YEAH! model.
On 30 September, High Commissioner Mridu Pawan Das @IFS_Mridu, UNFPA 🇷🇼 Rep @DrAdelakin, and Head of Workforce Development @RwandaHealth Mr. Menelas Nkeshimana @mnls_nke visited Ruli Higher Institute of Health @HigherRhih in @GakenkeDistrict as part of the project “Aim for change! Advancing Rwanda's Midwifery to accelerate the realization of Zero preventable maternal deaths through South-South cooperation”. The joint delegation undertook a guided tour of various facilities of the institute. The project is providing scholarships to several midwifery students, including 355 Ruli Higher Institute of Health diploma, bachelor and bridging students.
The Aim for change! project, which is supported by a grant of USD 1 million by the Government of India under its India-UN Development Partnership Fund, is a testament to India's commitment to South-South Cooperation. @UNFPARwanda@IndianDiplomacy
