"The Sacred Month of Allah: MuแธฅarramโA Season of Great Virtues, Abundant Fasting, and the Immense Reward of สฟฤshลซrฤสพ!
Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli ุญูุธู ุงููู
In this beneficial reminder, Shaykh Sulaymฤn ar-Ruแธฅaylฤซ ุญูุธู ุงููู highlights the great virtues of the Sacred Month of Allah, al-Muแธฅarram, and encourages the believers to seize its tremendous opportunities for worship. The Shaykh explains the virtue of increasing in voluntary fasting during this blessed month, as it is the best fasting after Ramadan, and clarifies that the Sunnah is to fast most of its days rather than all of them. He also discusses the special status of the Day of สฟฤshลซrฤสพ, the day on which Allah saved Mลซsฤ ุนููู ุงูุณูุงู and his people, the Prophetโs ๏ทบ eagerness to fast it, his command to the Muslims to observe it, and his intention to fast the ninth alongside the tenth. A powerful reminder to honour this sacred month, revive its Sunnahs, and strive for the immense rewards that Allah has prepared for those who fast it."

Tomorrow is Monday, and with it comes the start of the ten most important days of the year. It is a bit strange how we all prepare for weeks before Ramadan, yet these days often arrive without much notice. The Prophet (peace be upon him) made the value of this time very clear.
ู ุง ู ู ุฃูุงู ุงูุนู ู ุงูุตุงูุญ ูููุง ุฃุญุจ ุฅูู ุงููู ู ู ูุฐู ุงูุฃูุงู
There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.
This means that a small action done on a Tuesday morning in Dhul Hijjah could carry more weight than the same action done in the middle of Ramadan. It is a major opportunity to catch up on any spiritual drifting you have done over the last few months.
To make the most of this, look at fasting as much as you can, especially on the ninth day, which is the Day of Arafah. That single day can wipe away the sins of the year before and the year after. If you cannot fast every day, try to increase your dhikr.
The Prophet told us to say Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar frequently during this time. You can also look at giving charity, no matter how small the amount, and making sure your five daily prayers are done on time with a bit more heart.
If you are planning to offer a sacrifice, remember that the sunnah is to avoid cutting your hair or nails from the moment the month starts until the sacrifice is finished. This is a way of joining the pilgrims in spirit.
The main thing to avoid is allowing these days pass like any other week. Avoid falling into the trap of being busy with things that do not matter.
Also, be careful with your tongue. It is a time for mercy, so do not spoil your rewards by engaging in backbiting or arguing over small things. These days are a gift meant to help us reset our focus before the year ends.
Allah knows best.
First of all, the idea of a "generational curse" is not a thing in our Deen. Surah Fatir (35:18) is the law here. No soul carries the load of another. You are not being punished for what your father or grandfather did.
However, the stains/lingering impact of their sins may hurt you. It is real. Ibn al-Qayyim mentions in Ad-Da' wa ad-Dawa' that the impact of a sin is like a seed that grows, and its darkness can cast a shadow over a person's life. He explains that sins can block the doors of Rizq and remove the Barakah that should have protected the family.
If the wealth of those children in Surah Al-Kahf (18:82), were protected because their father was a righteous man, it means it could also be other way round.
One thing is clear: you aren't inheriting their debt. For instance, despite Abu Jahl being the Pharaoh of this Ummah, Ikrimah, his son, became a giant of the faith.
Your goal should be how to be like Ikrimah or a righteous father regardless of whatever stains or curse that may be generational against you.
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim in Al-Tibb al-Nabawiy, mentioned some Divine Medicine I believe will help you going forward:
1. Perform Ruqyah and Recite Surah Al-Baqarah. Always recite or play Surah Al-Baqarah in your home. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said it cleanses the space of darkness and makes Shaytan flee. It resets the spiritual atmosphere of your house and clears the bad energy left behind by past errors.
2. Use charity as a shield. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us it stands in the way of calamity and cools the fire of past mistakes. It is a practical way to buy peace for your future and push back against the Athar of the past.
3. Be consistent in doing Istighfar for the Lineage. Please, do not just ask for yourself. Make it a habit to ask Allah to forgive your parents and grandparents. This act of kindness can settle the spiritual debts they left behind and clear the path for your own success.
4. Ensure your own money is halal. If there is one thing that can make all your Duas and efforts worthless, itโs eating Haram. Also, if your income is clean, it helps provides a clean foundation so your own children do not have to face the same struggle you are navigating now. You are the one building the new wall of righteousness.
I pray the Almighty grant you his mercy.
