Method of operations for a free-thinking individual should be to engage in dialogue with people until their unwillingness to engage with their own contradictions becomes apparent enough that there is no longer anything to be gained from further dialogue.
@TRHLofficial@WallStreetSilv Hubris. WW3 would probably result in a series of civil wars since our militaries would be busy and our governments have been tyrannizing us for so long.
@ggreenwald@ConceptualJames@MorbiusDevo Institutions that don't self-police must be policed from the outside. Otherwise the institutions aren't being policed, and if the institutions aren't being policed, then the entire liberal style of government that prides itself on checks and balances is no longer liberal.
@ggreenwald@ConceptualJames@MorbiusDevo Why should I trust these institutions specifically?
Not in the abstract, but specifically these, with these specific actors, with their specific rhetoric, and their specific actions?
Why should I not want the careerists who enable this kept away from power?
Democrats (and their media allies) now routinely depict criticisms of DOJ, FBI, CIA, health policy officials or any other powerful executive branch agency as dangerous, inappropriate and even unpatriotic.
That powerful officials should be immune from critique is authoritarian.
@greg_price11 What totalitarian megalomania sounds like: No, Merrick Garland. Pointing out your partisan double standard is not an attack on DOJ as an "institution." It's a valid criticism of Garland's abuse of DOJ for partisan advantage.
@aimeeterese Games are soft dopamine machines that fulfill people with artificial feelings of accomplishment. It's a bandaid on the meaninglessness of life, a materialist opiate of the masses. Lets you kill commies without getting arrested for it. It's great.
@ShinnahWilde@TRHLofficial Try as you might to declare morality as subjective, those who do so are more likely than anyone else to treat such a truth as absolute, and all derivative moral impulses follow from that.
