The loss of lives during the installation of a gantry crane raises serious concerns regarding adherence to safety protocols at construction sites. Reports indicating possible lapses highlight the need for strict and continuous monitoring of safety standards, especially in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra feels that it is important to recognise that construction workers, many of whom are migrant labourers from different parts of the country, form the backbone of urban development. Despite their critical contribution, they often work in conditions that expose them to significant risks. Ensuring their safety is not merely a regulatory requirement but a moral and social responsibility.

While authorities have announced an inquiry and assured action against those found responsible, such measures often come after irreversible loss. A proactive approach is essential, where safety systems are strengthened, compliance is rigorously enforced, and accountability mechanisms are made effective at every stage of project execution.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra urges the government and all concerned agencies to prioritise worker safety through strict enforcement of safety norms, independent audits, and proper training at worksites. Adequate compensation and support for the affected families must also be ensured.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra strongly condemns the horrific rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in Nasrapur, Pune.

The accused, a 65-year-old man and a convicted repeat offender, was out on bail despite prior charges under the POCSO Act.

That such an individual, previously jailed and known to be a threat was allowed to move freely, without supervision or monitoring in the vicinity of children, is deeply disturbing. This is not merely a heinous crime; it reflects a grave failure of the system to protect the most vulnerable.

Equally alarming is the broader trend. Reported POCSO cases in Pune have risen from 256 in 2024 to 311 in 2025, with similar patterns emerging across other cities in Maharashtra. These figures point to a systemic crisis that demands urgent, structural intervention like: * Mandatory post-conviction monitoring and tracking of repeat sexual offenders, * Stringent bail restrictions in cases involving repeat offenders under POCSO * Fixing full institutional accountability for lapses in such cases

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra calls upon all sections of society: citizens, community leaders, educators, and authorities - to become proactive in ensuring safety, dignity, and justice for every girl and woman.

We feel that at a deeper level, this crisis cannot be addressed by legal measures alone. Laws, however strict, are insufficient without a parallel moral awakening in society.

Islam unequivocally upholds the sanctity of human life and dignity, and prescribes severe accountability for those who violate it. At the same time, it emphasizes taqwa (God-consciousness) as the strongest internal restraint against wrongdoing.

Moral education must therefore begin early, within families, schools, and communities, instilling respect, modesty, and responsibility. A society that loses its moral compass cannot be safeguarded by legislation alone.

True reform requires both firm enforcement of justice and a revival of ethical and spiritual values, including a conscious awareness that every action is ultimately accountable before the Almighty in the Hereafter. Only through this combined approach can we hope to curb such crimes and build a society that is safe, just, and humane.

बरेली के पास चलती ट्रेन से मौलाना तौसीफ़ रज़ा मज़हरी को धक्का देकर गिराने का आरोप, दर्दनाक मौत।

बिहार के किशनगंज जिले के 30 वर्षीय मस्जिद के इमाम मौलाना तौसीफ़ रज़ा मज़हरी की मौत को लेकर विवाद बढ़ गया है। रेलवे अधिकारियों ने इसे हादसा बताया है, लेकिन परिवार ने इस दावे को खारिज कर दिया है। उनका कहना है कि मौलाना को उनके पहनावे की वजह से निशाना बनाया गया, पीटा गया और चलती ट्रेन से बाहर फेंक दिया गया।

मौलाना तौसीफ़ रज़ा मज़हरी का शव 26 अप्रैल की रात बरेली स्टेशन के पास रेलवे ट्रैक के किनारे मिला था। वह बरेली में एक धार्मिक कार्यक्रम से लौट रहे थे। परिवार का आरोप है कि ट्रेन में कुछ अज्ञात लोगों ने उनके साथ मारपीट की।

मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक़, मृतक की पत्नी तबस्सुम खातून ने बताया कि 26 अप्रैल की रात उनके पति ने फोन किया था और वह डरे हुए लग रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा, “उन्होंने बताया कि कुछ लोग उन्हें मार रहे हैं।”
