It’s no coincidence that the Ole Miss athletic department’s rise has happened at the same time @KeithCarterOM took over. Best AD in the country. Also shoutout to @walkerj29
@sudu_tv As long as a little old Oxford and Ole Miss stays “little”, no one says a word. God forbid we excel. God forbid we prevail, even though our former coach made it his mission to prevent us from doing such.
There’s a pattern I’ve noticed when it comes to Ole Miss and Oxford.
For years, when Ole Miss football was mediocre or irrelevant nationally, people loved romanticizing the place. They’d talk about how they’d always wanted to visit Oxford. They’d bring up William Faulkner, the food scene, the music, the charm of the town, the Grove, the pageantry. Ole Miss was treated like this fascinating Southern experience everyone wanted to see for themselves.
But the second Ole Miss became a real threat in college football, the second it started competing for top recruits, playoff spots, and legitimacy on the national stage the tone changed. Suddenly, people are reaching for every negative stereotype they can find, using the school’s history as ammunition when it becomes convenient competitively or to score points on social media.
Lane had no problem selling Oxford to black athletes while stacking classes & winning games, and cashing a $90M contract off our backs. Now Mississippi “too racist”? Man please. He used black players to build himself up, then dipped in a playoff run. Tiger don’t change stripes.

We are in for one hell of an ending to January in the eastern half of the country with unending ARCTIC COLD and SIGNIFICANT WINTER PRECIPITATION across most of this area. It's going to stay VERY COLD after the event too, which makes melting and recovery much more difficult when significant ICE and SNOW fall. There are many details within the ECMWF model below, but I wanted to show you a "rough draft" of this storm.
The timeline of the event looks to be Friday afternoon into Tuesday from the southern Plains to the Mid Atlantic. The ECMWF wants to put the northeast into a snowstorm before this ends on Tuesday.
Some of the data I have looked at this morning is downright scary with respect to ICE ACCRETION. Hopefully a lot of this falls as SLEET, but some of the FREEZING RAIN COULD BE OVER AN INCH which is crippling. Double digit SNOW is likely as well especially in the mid-Atlantic region. Significant snowfall is expected in DC. ICE is possible to the southeast coast.
I've included the @weatherbell NBM liquid equivalent total as this is the pie from which we slice. How this plays out in precip types is still up for discussion, but this has the potential to disrupt life as we know it for many areas for several days during and after the event.

"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far," Pres. Roosevelt
Trinidad Chambliss just now on SportsCenter: "I owe it to Ole Miss. Since I got here in April it's felt like home and embraced by the community. They love my family... I knew what was right. I have trust in PG and Joe Judge." (Chambliss still awaiting waiver)
.@OleMissFB has become America’s Team. Chambliss is an inspiration for all of us for all of the right reasons. Those young men deserve to see this all the way through with the support of their staff.
“I feel like it was one of the best quarterback performances that we have seen since the College Football Playoff has been in existence.”
