Kenya's 2023/24 revenue outturn numbers are out.
Here's a quick summary
· Collection stood at Kes 2.407 trillion, posting an 11.11% growth y/y & 95.0% performance rate
· Exchequer collection closed 2023/24 at Kes 2.223 trillion, up 9.5% y/y & registering a 95.8% performance rate
· The Authority reported 34.93% growth in agency collections to Kes 184.03 billion in the period under review
· Domestic VAT collections have crossed the Kes 300.0 billion mark closing 2023/24 at Kes 314.16 billion & registered 102.06% performance rate. This outperformance has been attributed to the eTIMS rollout
· Customs collection stood at Kes 791.368 billion, up 4.9% & performance rate at 94.6%
· PAYE collections have crossed the Kes 500.0 billion mar closing 2023/24 at Kes 543.186 billion & 9.7% up y/y
· Corporate Income Tax mobilised Kes 278.156 billion, up 4.9% y/y & the performance rate at 93.4%
· Capital Gains Tax was quite the out-performer in 2023/24 mobilising Kes 8.381 billion & registering 108.7% performance
· Domestic Excise collections stood at Kes 73.624 billion, up 8.1% y/y & the performance at 99.6%
· Tax Amnesty Programme which closed on June 30th mobilised Kes 43.9 billion from 2,617,111 tax payers. That's an 86.07% performance
· Debt collection initiatives yielded Kes 103.39 billion
· Alternative Dispute Resolution mobilised Kes 21.9 billion from 1,184 concluded cases
