I'm just a member of the public with disabilities and have used the accessible queue. Will try and answer any questions as @DCMS are not replying to questions
For those with access needs, Tate Britain (not Tate Modern) will be the point where those wishing to pay respects to Her Majesty The Queen at the Palace of Westminster will need to register for the accessible queuing scheme

@happyjenloves@DCMS Thats exactly what I'm saying. Many wristbands were handed out in front of me, when I arrived at Tate Britain over Lambeth Bridge to request equipment from them when we couldnt finish the 13+ hour-long queue without it. @DCMS lack of communication was shocking...
@rawyetreal @Chrisitv@JonIronmonger@winson_toby@jonkay01@DCMS I was going to on Sunday- only day I had as had to arrange carer, make sure I rested day before- but closed the access queue on Sat pm- beyond devastated and angry that couldn’t come as that right taken away from me. No understanding of barriers impact disabled no #accessiblequeue
Scouts aged 18 - 25 years old from across the UK volunteered to support everyone in the queue paying their respects to HM Queen in London this week. They've done a wonderful job! 👏
Can you imagine queuing for 11 hours in the cold & they say “right! That’s it, closed now go home!” When you’re about an hour away from the end?! #TheQueue
@timstollery@DCMS I've sent you a DM. I won't be able to give live updates but agree @DCMS need to provide more real time info so people don't get stuck. Living with disabilities means navigating additional barriers and we need more info #Accessiblequeue
The wait time now for the main queue is down to 8 hours yet the #Accessiblequeue was closed yesterday afternoon preventing anymore people from attending. Surely @DCMS could have accommodated more people today?
HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN'S LYING-IN-STATE QUEUE UPDATE, 6:30PM, 18 Sep
A decision will be taken today on when entry to the queue will close as it reaches final capacity
Queue end point is at Tower Bridge
Estimated queuing time is 8 hours

Agree! Seems to have been no collaboration with people with diverse access needs re #Accessiblequeue in order to have anticipated and pre-planned the most simple of measures. Hope @DCMS respond to the huge amount of feedback & emotion there has been. Many disappointed people
@young1economist@SW402987634@SkyNews@AccessibleQ I think they massively underestimated the proportion of ppl with a disability/ health condition in this context. Eg someone with a heart condition might not “appear” disabled but would not be advised to queue for 12 hours. Then v slow to respond when the Q grew.
@alisonpearsonSW@SkyNews@AccessibleQ The organisation of the accessibility queue was a shambles. However I did get lucky yesterday with my son. Queued for 6 hrs as the kiosk did not open until midday. I was there at Tate Britain just after 7am.
Was the #AccessibleQueue accessible?
No & this is why -
1. Lack of info
The main Q had constant updates & good info. Disabled folk need to plan journeys carefully but mostly had to find info from twitter searching; there wasnt even an official hashtag
#QueueForTheQueen#AccessibleQueue A very sad thread. I too hope that this gentleman and his wife were taken to the front of the queue. There are probably many similar tales from the #Queue. One would have hoped that “they” could have got this right.
@PennyRed This makes me so cross. I knew when the queue was announced that I wouldn’t be able to do it (#LongCovid) but thought they would at least make more of an effort than they did to help those of us with disabilities
Eventually they let him and his wife leave, and we saw them ushered ahead- but I don't know if they made it. I really hope they are both okay.
Let me stress that doing the Queue, at its peak, was a serious physical challenge. I'm 35 and in good shape and all of me hurts today.
Right. So. The fact that the 'accessible' part of the Great Big Queen Queue has been permanently shut down should be getting way more attention. Here's why. Let me tell you a story from last night: #QueueForTheQueen
Really sad to hear that the #accessiblequeue has closed more than 24hrs earlier than #TheQueue and #CelebrityQueue. So that people with disabilities are yet again treated as an afterthought :-(
@AccessibleQ@tonimishell87@isitbacarditime@KimCoop92860966@DCMS Wow that was arduous!! This ‘accessible’ queue was a complete joke how it operated. Particularly as they closed it completely on Saturday, over 36hrs before the main queue. Total nonsense to say it was “up to capacity”. What does that mean? Pre determined number of disabled?
SITREP after 1 hour. Just finished Mill Street having done the Bermondsey Wall route. #TheQueue in high spirits. Could’ve done with the #AccessibleQueue as wife’s really battling but @DCMS had other ideas. Next stop Tower Bridge!
@findjoyeveryday @iamraisini @michelledonelan I know, it's so wrong. My husband and daughter were given a time slot between 3 and 4 am, they have been told that the hall is cleaned between those times, so they're queuing again. This is the most inaccessible #accessiblequeue 😞
