🚨 ANYONE IN NORTHERN IRELAND ABLE TO GIVE THIS DOG ABUSER SOME WORDS OF ADVICE?
CONVICTED | Dan Hustiu, age unknown, from #ballymena, County #antrim BT43 7DN – caught on video beating his rescue dog.
Romanian national Hustiu pleaded guilty to cruelty to an unnamed collie-type dog following a prosecution by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
The council vet described the harrowing contents of the footage, comprising two separate clips:
They said: “In the first video, he grabbed the dog, held her mouth shut while twisting her neck and repeatedly punched her with a closed fist. In the videos you can hear the dog yelping in pain as the man punches her.
“In the second video the man is holding the dog by her neck and slamming her down to the ground. He then proceeds to again hold her mouth shut and twist her neck and then shakes her in position. Again in this footage her yelps of pain are audible and she tries to pull away from him.
“When she does get away from him she cowers under the table outside away from the man”.
The dog, whom Hustiu reportedly adopted from the Dogs Trust, was tethered inside the property to a fridge by a short lead.
Veterinary examination found that she had a laceration on her tongue and neck pain from the incident.
Sentencing | 240-hour community service order; costs of £155 and £32 of court costs. 10-year disqualification order.

This is the 'vile' dog owner facing an animal cruelty probe after she allegedly tied her Japanese Akita to a lamppost and abandoned it on the hottest day of the year - then jetted off on holiday to Egypt.
Wardens raised the alarm after the distressed dog was discovered running around an industrial estate having been tied to the lamppost outside PetPractice vets in Salisbury, Wiltshire, on Wednesday, as temperatures soared to almost 35C.
The 'petrified' American Akita called Carla escaped from its harness before running close to nearby roads and was eventually rescued and taken away for treatment.
Now the Daily Mail can reveal the Akita's owner is 47-year-old Paula Blackwood, who left for a sunshine break to Egypt shortly after trying to give away her pet.
The day before Carla was found, Ms Blackwood was on social media begging someone to take Carla off her hands 'immediately'.
She posted on Facebook that Carla was free to a 'good home' because its separation anxiety was causing distress to neighbours
She wrote: 'Japanese Akita to give to good home today. Really good temperament, so loving. I can't keep her as she has separation issues when I'm out, causing neighbours distress.'
Hours later, she returned to Facebook to ask: 'Anyone know who takes dog immediately?'
When she returns Ms Blackwood now faces the prospect of an animal welfare investigation over claims the female Akita was deliberately abandoned.
Wiltshire Council's Public Protection Service said in a statement on June 24: 'This dog may have been intentionally abandoned this morning after being tied to a lamp post on one of the hottest days of the year.
'We are aware who the likely owner of this dog is and we are currently investigating the matter.'
It is believed the dog, which was microchipped with incorrect details, managed to slip out of her harness before running loose near surrounding roads as members of the public struggled to approach her
One eyewitness said the Akita was 'petrified', making it difficult for rescuers to get close.
In a subsequent update, the council said it had identified the dog's owner. The council added: 'We're pleased to confirm that the dog is receiving the care and treatment she needs and will remain safely in our care.'
Ms Blackwood has been looking after Carla since the beginning of last year after being given the dog by a friend.
pair of heavy-handed pet sitters were caught kicking and dragging family dogs they were paid to look after.
Paige Williams, 25, was entrusted with caring for three dogs, two cats and two birds of prey in Solihull while their owners were away for four weeks on holiday in July and August 2024.
Her boyfriend, Bradley Regan Archer, 26, also joined her at the family's home, in Balsall Common, to help take care of the animals.
But on the family's return, they discovered devastating footage - captured on cameras in the kitchen and garden.
It showed the couple swearing at the dogs, roughly dragging them by their collars, holding them off the ground, pushing them through doorways and pushing them down.
All of the incidents caught on camera involved a 13-month-old dog called Ayrton and a three-year-old dog called Frieda - both German Shorthaired Pointers - and did not relate to the third dog, the cats or the birds.
Commercial pet sitter Williams - who operated under the name Fur & Filly PetCare Services - was charging £1,400 to look after the animals, though the family didn't pay the invoice after uncovering the abuse.
The couple appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after Williams pleaded guilty to one offence of failing to meet the needs of two dogs under section nine of the Animal Welfare Act.
Archer had earlier pleaded not guilty and was due to stand trial but changed his plea on the day.
RSPCA Inspector Ben Jones, who carried out the investigation on behalf of the animal welfare charity, said: 'Poor Ayrton seemed to be at the sharp end of most of Ms Williams and Mr Archer's anger; he was locked in a crate which left him crying and whining, he was tethered to a tree - with water left just out of his reach - and he was chased around the garden and threatened with a stick.
'He was handled very inappropriately, with a slip lead used to yank him around and even flip him up into the air.
'When he jumped up at Archer he was whipped at several times with the same lead.'
A vet who watched the footage said, in her witness statement to the court, that Ayrton and Frieda showed signs of anxiety and stress, adding: 'Both dogs are handled in a way that would [have] negatively affected their mental welfare (due to crating, being shouted at, inconsistent training) and their physical welfare (dragging by the collar, yanking on slip leads and lifting the dog's body weight from the ground by the neck).'
In mitigation, the court heard Ayrton was a lively, young dog who could be challenging to deal with. Magistrates were also told that Williams was in the early stages of pregnancy at the time and was struggling to cope with hormonal changes.

Authorities searching Miranda's Rescue uncovered mass graves, suspected killing sites, and hundreds of canine remains.
The case has exposed a little-known part of California's animal welfare system: private rescues that accept animals from overcrowded public shelters, often for transfer fees, while operating outside direct government oversight.
It had contracts or transfer arrangements with various municipal/county animal shelters across California (and at least one mention involving out-of-state), under which it received per-animal fees (often hundreds to thousands of dollars). These are local government or shelter payments—not direct state appropriations or grants. Other shelters and rescues paid these fees to offload animals. The ongoing fraud investigation includes scrutiny of how these funds were used amid the high number of unaccounted animals.

FINAL APPEAL FOR MINNIE & MICKEY’s LIVES
Over 19k views ( on facebook ) and not a single rescue offer.
The warden said to me today ‘she feels sick’ thinking about their fate.
These 2 came into the pound together but can be separated. They have been separate since arriving a few weeks ago. But do enjoy when they get to see each other.
They are out of time and need rescue offers now before it’s too late.
Minnie is a playful girl full of energy who loves to play with humans.
Mickey is a gentle boy who loves affection and to show off his tricks for treats.
Minnie’s behaviour in kennels: If a dog walks past her whilst she’s in the paddocks (in her kennel she just stands there), she will run towards the mesh and bark following the dog, sometimes with her tail wagging other times without. It is unknown whether this is simply due to frustration as she’s not been able to be properly exercised or not. This would need to be further assessed by any rescue.
Mickey’s behaviour in kennels: He seems fine with other dogs unless a dog is reactive to him first in which case he reacts back. Although this has only been seen in one instance with a dog who reacted aggressively towards him. Otherwise he has not been reactive to any other dogs and isn’t bothered when they pass him or visa versa.

A farm business which supplies free range pork to major supermarket chains has admitted animal offences after undercover footage captured staff bludgeoning pigs.
Norfolk Free Range, which is accredited by an RSPCA welfare scheme, provided meat to Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-op, Aldi and Lidl.
The footage, which was taken over an eight-day period, caught workers attacking pigs with a long metal fencing pole, known as a hurdle pin, in two separate incidents.
One pig appeared to be left for dead in one of the attacks, which was shown in a documentary, Pignorant, produced by vegan animal activist Joey Carbstrong in 2022.
Two farm workers – a man and a woman – were subsequently sacked following the incidents at Harford Farm in Caistor St Edmund.
The business had denied six charges including failing in its duty to ensure animal welfare, allowing the killing of pigs without a licence, killing animals without the proper restraint and allowing workers to inflict blows and kicks on animals.
