@CoachSwit As crazy as the cost is in the US, it pails in comparison to what Elite level programs charge in Canada. Even the lower end Elite programs charge $6,000+ USD for registration only, and have much higher cost of travel if they’re spending much time in the US.

@BentleyKimbro2 My son was hoping for D1’s but only got Juco’s. He took one of the offers and is going to be getting play time from day 1. Stick with it, and don’t look at a Juco offer as anything other than an opportunity to prove to the D1’s that they should have taken you two years earlier!

@UncleHowdy_ As it was with Bray as well, Bray/Wyatt Sicks don’t/never need a title. The best move would have been having Bray/Sicks appear, find a target, have a short program, win it and then disappear into the abyss again for a months before popping up again.

Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, guys who threw as hard as anyone you see today that went 20+ years in the MLB.

Aroldis, body just allows him to throw hard. Most guys, risking arm health to throw a few miles harder instead of learning how to pitch.

@CoachSwit Once our season ends I shut down my pitchers until January. They can do cage work, hit BP’s, field, whatever, but they’re not throwing a ball “in anger” from mid-October until the first week of January. They includes PO’s as well (though I hate PO’s, work on everything).

The 12 month sport specialization is not helping kids. They need to be able to shut down some muscles while using others to take the extreme load off their arms in the case of baseball to ensure a better chance of staying healthy.

I saw a crazy stat a couple of weeks ago that has been stuck in my head ever since.

The New York Yankees franchise (1903-Present) has an overall .570 Winning Percentage! To give some context, this means that the Bombers average 162 game record would be 92-70!!!

@JunkensteinP @pjonesbaseball I disagree. My son is a JUCO and the education is very important to him. Most JUCO players appreciate that playing two years may be the end of their baseball journey, so having an education is important.

The announcers comment on how well Marr Shaw has been for the Cubs this year while hitting .227 overall along with .159 with RISP against a kid who has thrown more balls than strikes (and just hit Shaw). Can someone explain to me how this is baseball!???
