The landlord, Michael Klein/Family Properties, has a long history of bad-faith renovictions across Ontario and has displaced dozens of tenants in Hamilton alone. With the City's Renovation License & Relocation bylaw, this is hopefully the end of their renovictions in Hamilton.
The remaining tenants facing renoviction at 221 Melvin Ave had their N13s withdrawn at their hearing on Monday , continuing Hamilton ACORN’s streak of no formal renovictions in 2025!

This incredible victory is a testament to the power tenants hold when they stand together with a united voice. Thanks to collective organizing, over 30 Hamiltonians have escaped eviction!
A group of tenants facing renoviction at 325 and 325A James St S in Hamilton were able to come to an agreement with their landlord that allows them to maintain their affordable homes while still permitting renovations to take place!

The Mountain ACORN chapter visited MPP Monica Ciriello's office last Wednesday, taped our letter to the door and left another copy in the mailbox to ensure it reached the MPP!
We are eager to meet with MPP Ciriello to discuss issues facing tenants across the province
AGIs allow landlords to profit from capital upgrades by raising rents dramatically. ACORN members are clear: this is climate injustice.

27 Bold St organized a tenants' union with @AcornHamilton to fight back after 40+ days of no gas. Tenants are paying 2k/month to “tough it out” in Valour's “luxury building.” The pressure is working and repairs are being expedited. But there's more needed https://t.co/6qATu9yh5s
