"They" are teachers. Not lawmakers, teachers. And it is teachers, not opressive laws, that I trust with my children
@EsMteach @pennykittle @KellyGToGo I intro’d Book Clubs for the first time for Freshman today. They haven’t read on their own in quite some time. Some pushed back. A lot. And deep down, I think they are scared. But even more seemed, dare I say it, excited? I’ll try to hang on to the joy while also nudging a bit.
I was invited to give an MLK speech today and a small number of members of the group hosting me wrote and then leaked emails opposing my giving this speech, as it dishonored Dr. King for me to do so. They called me a "discredited activist" "unworthy of such association with King"
