Theater is a political act & every political act is theater. I strive to make sense of the two, whether as a spectator or participant. (AKA an angry activist)
A person that becomes a trillionaire should be shamed and ostracized for hoarding massive amounts of wealth. That kind of behavior isn’t admirable but rather greedy and sociopathic.
Can’t stop thinking about how Wall Street is celebrating Elon Musk becoming the world’s first trillionaire, while he single handedly eliminated humanitarian aid that will lead to the needless deaths of 4.5 million of the poorest children in the world in the next 4 years.
Honestly, i don't understand this economy when nursing homes are so expensive they bankrupt our grandparents but nursing home aides need to use food banks.
daycare is so expensive it eats up one parent's entire paycheck and yet daycare providers only make $10/hr and need second jobs.
college costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and puts students into debt for life and yet we have thousands of professors living in their cars.
everything we need is astronomically expensive and yet almost none of the money we pay is going towards the people actually doing the work and providing the services.
This is legit the best baby shower idea
Make a photo spot with props where anyone can “become the Godfather” and have them write a word of advice while they’re there
Make people smuggle gifts in through the back door
Bootleg the drinks (remove labels and rename)
Pasta is cheap to make. Short noodles for easier serving and eating. Pizzas cut in little squares for an appetizer
Give out a prize to anyone who dresses the part
Password included in the invite
Must say it to get in
Omg yes do this
The FIFA World Cup kicks off Thursday. 9 years ago we made a film about the men who built the last one in Qatar. We've stayed in touch ever since and over the next few weeks we'll be sharing some their updates.
I am Tanea Brooks. I am Rebel. Now, I AM ALS.
ALS may be terminal, but I'm showing up to fight as an Ambassador for I AM ALS, a patient-led movement pushing for real progress. I’m proud to join I AM ALS & I’m asking you to step into the ring with us → https://t.co/RVHbWz6I52
Day 31
How can we support you?
The truth is, you already are.
By reading these daily posts, sharing them, commenting, and helping spread awareness, you have been supporting me every step/roll of the way. Over the past month, my Facebook profile alone has reached more than 4 million views. That’s 4 million opportunities for someone to learn about ALS, and that means more to me than I can adequately express.
On Lou Gehrig Day at The K, I was overwhelmed with emotion as I looked around the stadium and saw Sarah’s Soldiers shirts scattered throughout the crowd. Seeing so many people stand beside me in this fight was a powerful reminder that I am not facing ALS alone. I feel incredibly blessed to call Kansas City home and to be surrounded by such a compassionate and supportive community.
For those who have asked how they can continue to help, if you would like to purchase a shirt or donate directly to support my personal fight with ALS, you can do so here:

If you would like to purchase a Royals-themed Sarah’s Soldiers shirt or support the nonprofit I created to help others battling ALS, you can do so here:
https://t.co/UVRscGWvH0
Both sites also allow donations without a purchase.
As this month comes to a close, I want to say thank you. Thank you for reading, sharing, encouraging, and learning alongside me. I have read every comment, every message, and every word of support. While ALS has taken many things from me, it has also shown me the incredible kindness, generosity, and strength that exists in others.
My hope is that these 31 days have helped you better understand ALS and the realities of living with it. Awareness creates understanding, understanding creates action, and action is what will ultimately lead us to a cure.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this journey and for standing with me in the fight against ALS. 💙

Young people are always told what not to do. But what should you do?
Did you know that most public libraries have a Nintendo Switch to use? That parks show free movies at night? That there's a map of pickup basketball games?
https://t.co/Nb8rOAGO4T is a map of free and affordable things to do this summer that we made just for you.
Because public programs mean nothing if you don't know how to access them.
A few years ago i took Ryan on his first ever holiday to Spain i did lots of preparation and planning for the holiday as I had no way of knowing of he'd get on the airplane, a few newspapers talked about the planning and preparation that I did and I also wrote for the new York Times about the preparation, on June 3rd I'm doing a webinar titled, Going Away with Your Child, lots of hints tips and practical advice the talk is aimed at parents and carers of children with SEND special educational needs and disabilities. If you're interested please send a email here- [email protected]

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5,000 years.
The I AM ALS Community is proud to present Ring Every Bell, a powerful new documentary short following Ambassador Eric Dane, Co-Founders Brian Wallach, Sandra Abrevaya, Board Member Dan Tate, Jr., & other community members as we push to end ALS: https://t.co/MiXnILh5Co
ALS steals too much — but it will never steal our determination, our urgency, or our drive. 💙
Volunteer. Advocate. Donate. Take action.
Get in, we’re ending ALS.
