Gender equality must be at the centre of EU external action.
As the EU prepares its next Gender Action Plan (GAP IV), the stakes are high. Across the world, women and girls are facing rising inequality, shrinking civic space, and increasing climate and economic pressures.
Binding ceilings on blended finance and budgetary guarantees. Transparency and accountability tied directly to how those instruments are used. If it doesn't work for partners, it's not development.
#MFF#GlobalEurope
The EP voted for a bigger Global Europe — EUR 225bn. This is the right signal on scale, given rising development needs, deepening fragilities, and the climate challenge. Now the question is what the money is actually for.
Global Europe should promote dialogues, partnerships and shared priorities with partner countries — not threaten them.
What the regulation must deliver: thematic targets including for LDCs, climate, human development, gender equality and civil society.
Rich countries are leaving the Global South behind.
Last year, #aid to the #GlobalSouth fell by more than 23%, putting millions of lives at risk.
At the same time, they spent more than 9x on defence NATO than #ODA.

Human rights aren’t optional. The EU-Israel Association Agreement is conditional on respect for human rights and democratic principles, conditions not being met. Israel has adopted a new discriminatory death penalty law targeting Palestinians only. Israel's genocide in Gaza continues, and ethnic cleansing accelerates in the West Bank. Meanwhile, a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon comes too late for the thousands Israel has killed and maimed, for the families now grieving, and for the millions whose homes, livelihoods, and communities have been deliberately destroyed.
Europe must act. Suspend the EU–Israel Association Agreement now.
