@patio11@timomall An easy argument against the Atlantic thesis is that banks would write each cohort of risks without the other existing.
Poor people that pay interests are one risk.
Rich people that get rewards are another risk, acceptance not dependent upon accepting poor people.
@BourbonSteakNSH@_ChefMichaelMin haven’t been to Nashville in a few years, but this place has gotten better from its high level ore-COVID. Service is great. New menu items great. Steak somehow improved!?!
@EconTalker it’s been a long time since I’ve disagreed so much with one of your guests. I distinctly remember color in dreams. I’ve been taught as a mathematician to admit when I don’t know something. Other disagreements as well.
@devonzuegel@EconTalker You mentioned how you don’t understand why beat up $100’s trade at a discount. That is because counterfeits are beat up so you can’t tell. This is common around the world.
@capjack2000@rxgamble I totally agree with Captain Jack. With the caveat that we all put effort into things which suit our personalities. You can’t say one takes strictly less effort or talent than the other. It depends on the person.

THREAD Let's start a long thread about how Russian book market prepared Russians for a full-scale war against Ukraine, NATO, the West, and promoted stalinism and nazism, and how this was ignored by the West. Keep seat belts fasten, you will see a lot of nasty things here.
@halfkelly@RWM21 @darrylpurpose On the $500/hand blackjack with the 30% loss rebate on $5K. There were three casinos. They were based in Malta, and you could reset until 5pm in Malta. If you ran bad they would move you to 25%.
@RWM21 In the early 2000’s, there was a casino in St Maarten where they would give you 10% bonus promo chips for a purchase up to $10K. So $11K bonus chips for $10K cash.
