Just when gov plans are announced to open access to green space within 15minutes of your home, only in #Bromley would they decide to pop posts in (yesterday) to limit access to green space! @LBofBromley its such such shame there is such an unwillingness to share
💥#Bromley CLOSES 2 of its only 3 #SchoolStreets💥
How poignant that a lost baby's bottle sits by the covered sign & abandoned barriers at now CLOSED Westgate Rd #SchoolStreet. This after Portfolio Holder decision "Council should support schs currently operating a School Street"
Very excited to be at the start of the first ever Bromley Kidical Mass bike ride, led by @Rahario and organised by a fantastic team of volunteers. About 40 people - really great turn-out despite rain.
Kidical Mass is coming to Bromley! 💯✨🚲 Sunday 30 October, beginning at 10am at Market Square and finishing at Beckenham Place Park. Register via Eventbrite https://t.co/3qir5cjBFb
I can confirm @BetterBeckenham that #Bromley Conservatives proposed, approved & voted through amendment to remove #activetravel as KPI in Guide. Opposition incl me as 1 of x4 Labour + 1 Lib Dem voted against. To modernise & gain all poss funding we shld be embracing active travel
“Over time, our communities have been optimised for peak motor traffic flow. Our communities now need to be redesigned to make walking the easiest choice.” @AdamTranter https://t.co/9WvuVewo6u
Time to prioritise residents’ health and safety over ‘car is king’ in LB #Bromley ⬇️
Another Environment meeting for Brom Council. Livetweeting highlights. First qu from public is on treemendous tree scheme. Resident explains he has had COVID and would like a written reply. 1/n
Most surreal moment ... when the Conservative Vice Chair of Environment Committee suggested the rise in KSIs in #Bromley is due to people emerging from lockdown & forgetting how to cross the road safely! 🙄
Here’s an initiative for GPs in LB #Bromley to embrace, however for it to succeed Tory Councillors need to break their addiction to cars, and enable safer #walking and #cycling on our streets, with #20mph where people live, shop, go to school. @BromleyGPs@LBofBromley#20sPlenty
Cycling levels in England are up by 47% on weekdays compared to the same period in 2021, according to @TransportGovUK data📈 The demand is there - we now need more safe cycling infrastructure across the UK to match it 👇

Calls for 20mph speed limits in LB #Bromley are getting louder.
Will the four BIDs - @BeckTogether @Orpington1st @SE20Penge @YourBromley - join residents in asking @LBofBromley to create 20-minute #activetravel neighbourhoods around town centres?
It’s good for business too ⬇️
Getting children outside and playing has been the focus of @playingout, a UK-wide grassroots initiative started on Bristol's streets. They've helped 40,410 children to play out in safe street spaces. Want to do something similar? See our funding options ⬇️

@LBofBromley E.g., para 16 of the Code of Practice states " local authorities should not use public funds to mount publicity campaigns whose primary purpose is to persuade the public to hold a particular view on a question of policy."
@LBofBromley May I gently suggest that this tweet (and the item to which it links) contravenes paragraph 1.7 of the Code of Conduct for Councillors (political purposes) as well as the requirement that LA publicity be objective.
Last night LB #Bromley’s Tory Councillors voted in favour of residents breathing toxic air from vehicle emissions.
Less than a mile from the Council chamber, children attending @ValleyPrimary School are exposed to some of the worst #airpollution outside schools in our borough ⬇️
Hi @LBofBromley hope you've been managing to keep cool in the heat? If not I've heard towels in the freezer work a treat. Oh on a completely unrelated note...just wondering whether you are ready to declare a #ClimateEmergency yet?
