Let's review. Trump has assured people over and over that he loves legal immigration.

Meanwhile, his administration slashed student visas, paused green cards for certain countries, suspended refugee resettlement, and all but eliminated asylum claims. They tried to deport someone over an *op-ed.* They're attempting to add a $100,000 tax for international student workers & another $103,000 tax for H-1B visas. And that's to say nothing of the mass-termination of TPS, which is sending some important industries, like home health care, into chaos.

It's a backwards, self-defeating immigration policy that hurts America. The Trump administration likes to talk about economic growth, but it is opting for degrowth and decline. That's a choice.
