@beat_zebull@quackmaster11 You cannot blame people that were never sold a game as a reason for why the game didn't sell well. Even with your arguments of piracy, those cannot exist until years after the games creation. As it not only needs to be randomly found but also become fully translated.
@quackmaster11@beat_zebull If you look at the later comments he made with me, you'll see his point was basically that since we didn't beg hard enough for the Nasu games it resulted in the remake being made which caused changes. It's very weird logic and is just pushing the blame imo.
@l1MVngU4Yj25300@binbi59 At no point was my argument that, I was saying that we were being blamed for a remake of a game we never got a chance to play for 20 years. At no point did I say we had a right to anything.
@l1MVngU4Yj25300@binbi59 Or, using stuff on the western side. Basically any show, movie, or game likely has a pirated version out there. That doesn't really stop people from paying to see Disney Movies or to play Stardew Valley. Most people don't see the point when the legal option is right there.
@l1MVngU4Yj25300@binbi59 Some things are unavoidable. Damn near anything can have a pirated version but that doesn't mean the impact is that great. For example Shonen Jump is only a $4 subscription with free chapters on new stuff. That makes most pirates pointless unless the translation is really bad.
@winter_shogun@RavindraJArt As another example of bad translations, the Jujustu Kaisen translations are so poorly received that there are multiple jokes about it. As some examples the official version said that Gojo can manipulate curse spirits. Or how it though the Heian Era was a place.
@mirokuopu I have had one user try to push blame on oversea fans on why a game was given a remake with changes instead of a re-release. The game that we weren't allowed to play legally for 20 years... It just feels like spite for existing at times.
@mlh52393 This is a thing that we know very well. In any argument, no matter how simple, there will always be those that say stuff out of line. They are crazy, we agree they are crazy, and if they just make everyone look bad. This is a complex topic about culture, not boxing, no punching.
@adatijun I wonder how guys like that feel when someone like Hirohiko Araki's art ends up at the Louvre. I see manga like I see all media, ever changing. Some stuff is just kid stuff, some is for fun, some are beautiful, and some are unusual. Each has it's place in the world.
@hayakawaz Same can be said for our pirate stuff. Crunchyroll started out as piracy, then it turned into one of the biggest subscription services globally.
@gumbie0406 I think you have it mixed up, you are trying to argue that the passion for the work is low. And yet the pirated versions are basically all that except it's free. Someone with no passion would not translate entire visual novels or manga for free if they did not care for it.
@beat_zebull I said nothing on hating corporations. I simply said our ability to speak of what we want is limited. In fact this still makes no sense because our biggest corporation for streaming anime, Crunchyroll, WAS a piracy site. Japanese companies are using the people from piracy.
@beat_zebull Ok, turn your thinking around a bit. What do you think takes more effort, asking companies to make something or doing translating the entire thing yourself for free and no rewards. If the need never existed, we wouldn't have the pirates. If the demand wasn't there, no translation
@theLassie27@PhantoMz202 Are you illiterate? Because I explained multiple times that Garou's peak is several times stronger than Saitama's at the start of the fight. I said multiple times Saitama can one-shot his previous self, meaning Garou's peak can also do the same.
@ryorekuiemu The people who just pirate stuff because it's expensive or a corporation are weird. Most do it because we have little to no hope to get it otherwise. It took us 20 years just to get Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime, both legends on their own. Imagine the time for smaller stuff.
@beat_zebull ........ Again you are just shifting the blame to us in the west when we were never allowed to play in the first place. We know the past, we had to get it ourselves, we saw the change too because our voice was loud enough to make it ourselves. You cannot blame us for the change.
@beat_zebull ..... Yes, and it took us 20 years to get what is considered one of the more iconic and legendary series to us. Plus, as you mentioned, an entire remake. People have always been asking, piracy is the demand, we've just been waiting for the supply to finally come.
@beat_zebull .... You act like that's a simple task over here. We don't have outlets that let us ask for this stuff, and the ones we do took 20 years for the examples we are talking about. You are placing blame where there is none, and I have shown proof that even pirates want to buy it legal
