@daojus @vdsatheesan + state don't have the money other than paying pension. Only solution is to create SPV with clear mandate with NRI investments and a pathway to exist and some tax arrangements. This will get you solutions and money plus govt.

@Howtoeatmangoes Well as long as someone is paying. If you are below certain income limit, technically govt would cover their basic stuff including healthcare. Most of the stuff is means tested but fraud is ongoing. Since govt is paying, everyone is trying to loot the govt.

@Howtoeatmangoes sure, from a debating perspective. For example St Jude hospital for kids is run on people donating money. If you bring that to Kerala, that would mean govt fixing a rate structure and paying private hospitals so every person there could walk in and get same care as the, rich.

@Howtoeatmangoes its part of the same question. Rights are not given by government, it comes from god per Christian theology, in that regard, the word carries a lot of meaning. From a secular view, when you say its a right, sure, my questions follows. But follow up informs the first question

@Howtoeatmangoes Also if the rights based model is so good, there won't be any private healthcare at all. Something to think about. Even the most ill prefer private hospitals, especially the ones run by catholic charities not government right based medical colleges
