Independent, self-employed small business marketing advisor. Over the last 20+ years I have enjoyed helping hundreds of small businesses make progress and grow.
Out of curiosity I ran the account through Google Gemini Ads Advisor (Beta).
The result was… ironic.
Gemini basically confirmed the 100% Optimization Score recommendations were wasting money.
I opened the Search Terms Report and immediately saw the problem.
His budget was getting destroyed by:
• Broad match keyword variants
• Competitor brand searches
Clicks that were never going to convert.
@SusanStaupe@MarkPreston1969@whitespark As someone who has used Yext for many years for 100+ locations I have to defend them here. I have seen the "renting listings" accusation so many times but it's actually not true. And this is coming from someone who has cancelled many locations on Yext.
@MarkPreston1969 We use Yext to manage 100+ clients. While it may not be the best fit for the singular, self-serve business owner, it does add value and is a useful tool for an agency managing many locations like ours.
See the victories not as proof of your supremacy, but as opportunities to offer more value to life. See the defeats not as personal affronts, but as chances to learn and grow stronger.
The moment you think you’ve got it all figured out, your progress stops. Instead, continue to advance and improve by reminding yourself how much more there will always be to discover.
If an advisor can’t explain something to you simply then it means one of three things: they either don’t communicate well, don’t understand the subject well, or don’t want you to understand it well. In all cases, it’s time to get advice elsewhere.
@PGATOURComms It takes real integrity in a person to be introspective and publicly admit when they've made a mistake like this. I think the strength and humility shown in this statement should be what is remembered about Matt Kuchar.
