A rare photo of my Great Grandfather as he was about to set off on the Isle of Mann TT race 1913. He died in the race 5th June 1913. Aged 23.

@Shrink_at_Large I have to clean and tidy the parent-in-laws house and garden as no service exists that can understand the difference between 'please clean' as in do it, and 'please clean' as in would be a nice idea but I am not ready for that change to happen so lets slowly work up to it.
The Cat Whiskers York has two new kittens (both females). Got in to meet them today which was the first day that they were meeting the customers. Both very playful, a little cautious of humans but once the toy gets their attention nothing stops them. #BlackCats
@BlokeOnWheels The people who talk of 'fairness' never want to talk about how unfair it is that over 2 million people in the UK are so undervalued in work that they have to have their income topped up.
The suggestion is 'get a better job' which ignores that these jobs are essential to society
@BlokeOnWheels Also includes the 'benefit' paid to people who work hard but it is for the sort of business that that pays a wage that the government has to top up so the worker can pay the basics such as rent and utilities.
About 35% to 40% of the entire claimant population work.
Went to see @hornesection at the @TheRSC Swan Theatre. Seen this show twice now and both times it has been different as the audience can influence the direction.
I had to check BMD, Rhufon Cockwell is a real name and not some sort of horrible condition.
@neuropuckedfox The NHS has stopped being patient focused and has moved towards cost focused. This short term government thinking has ignored the additional costs of untreated people being left alone with unsurmountable conditions putting strain on other services and destroying lives.
@neuropuckedfox I suspect that the services that should be helping you, me, and many more people, have been placed in the position of proving their worth to a government determined to cut spending. For that reason anything but the quickest and easiest of cases to 'cure' are kept off the books.
@DonnyFreePress Did the Belles no favours being reprieved from relegation last season, carried on the struggles and never recovered until it was beyond the team. So a chance to build momentum with the Devs stepping up, growing into league football with a fresh set of teams to face. Clean slate.
@neuropuckedfox Ghost Town by The Specials does the same for me. Puts me right back in the rundown council estate in Coventry as a 5-6 year old. Did not know it at the time being too young but this band knew and lived in my whole world at that time.
@patinaresearch The first person to die at the Isle of Man TT was Victor Surridge aged 19 riding a Rudge-Whitworth. In practice 1911.
The second was my great grandfather. Frank (Frederick) Bateman aged 23 on a Rudge Multi in 1913 while in the lead of the race.
@neuropuckedfox When it comes to mental health ignoring and delaying help only makes things worse and more entrenched.
Instead of admitting that cost cutting has damaged people the Government wants to downplay the idea that untreated mental health is a problem created by them.
@neuropuckedfox What keeps making me angry is that so many of us find ourselves in situations that are the result of failure of care and support. Successive Governments cutting help and now blaming people for being long term disabled.
We all have what ifs and many of them are about treatment.
@BBCMOTD Under duress vibes.
Comes across as very unconvincing, and unwilling to admit that cheating was wrong. More PR to suggest an individual mistake instead of a culture of ignoring rules.
@BBCMOTD At this point the statements Southampton release and the evidence slowly coming out is making a case that there is a culture at Southampton that is more than one persons mistakes, cheating is deeply ingrained in the club.
@RITB_ We had a conversation about how private services were being forced through by the back door and a shortage of GP appointments being artificially created to increase Private desirability and medical desperation. It was not what she trained as a Doctor to do.
@RITB_ I remember my GP telling me during an appointment that the practice manager had installed computer cameras and was encouraging all the GPs to do video consultation privately to earn extra money. She was furious that NHS patient appointments were being reduced to make time for £££
Ironically the tune stuck in my head that prevented me sleeping was this one. #Insomnia#Anxiety

@flickhwilliams@YorkDisability Why does it always feel like we are being rude and confrontational reminding people that should be aware of the law what they should of done without needing our input.
So many of us go for the easy life too often and just let the issue go on its way without us.
