@MikeJamiesonYYC Off peak/on peak pricing is a great strategy to ensure that those that need transit to get to work, during peak times, can have easier access to the service. I would think this would only apply to single use or multi use packets. Monthly passes, should remain as is.
@RobWardCGY Look forward to seeing the thoughts on that and if they think it’s practical to move at the pace they are suggesting given the local resources available.
@SensibleSully@RobWardCGY I understand the perspective but the issues we are having go back further than the current City Manager’s tenure. If there is a problem it’s more likely structural than just them but I understand the desire for accountability.
@RobWardCGY I think the money is there, but I feel as though there is a throughput capacity problem to deliver it on time. And the recent demand increase has outpaced the capacity to deliver.
@Landonforward14 Curious to know if the conversation around population growth came into the discussion around the need for this. It’s clear we needed a new treatment plant for a couple years now and we are behind the 8-ball on it. Similar problem across Southern Alberta right now.
@SteveSaretsky You know, it's really rich to say this now. The BoC (and others) sat back and watch this balloon inflate to epic proportions while our economy shrank in real terms at the same time. We need a balance of costs coming down with some actual economic growth to increase wages.
@JimChuong What's likely to occur, which is probably a scarier thought, is that the government will allow 40 year amortizations, or longer, again so that people can stay in their homes. This is not the US, most people's wealth is tied up in their homes in Canada, which is a problem.
@BenRabidoux@WOWA_Canada I'm no expert, but it would also tell me that if they have loss provisions in one fiscal year and then they don't lose that much then it would be a positive to the balance sheet next year. This may be a creative way to spread profits if you knew things were getting worse.
@RichardDias_CFA@mario4thenorth Richard, how does the current situation with the bond market reflect in your model? I am purely a layman in this area, but I find this really fascinating the impact this could have on liquidity and then eventually inflation and then multiple steps after that.
@JasminLaine_ Listening to your show the other day, you had noted it was odd for Mark Carney, as a Catholic to have a God/saviour complex. I would argue the opposite is true, go to peak mass, 11am on a Sunday in any Catholic Church and those are the most likely people to have a God complex.
@totally_not_ace@JJ_McCullough@GoMLism The reporter that wrote that personally overheard liberal party members discussing doing this. It’s stated in the article.
