Hi everyone,
My name is Richard Woodruff. I’m a slightly mad British volunteer here in Ukraine, doing my best to support our Ukrainian heroes on the front lines.
First, a huge thank you for sticking with me through all 1,417 days of this journey. You’ve read all 21,230 of my tweets - that’s either incredible loyalty or you need a better hobby! Either way, I’m genuinely grateful.
I’m about to start my fifth year here, and as you can see, the job is starting to show. I used to have a face… now I have “character.” Every new wrinkle is a souvenir from showing up when it mattered. I’ve never looked the other way, and I never will. Ukraine has become my home, and I wear this tired, crumpled mug with pride.
My biggest hope is that I won’t have to tweet for the next five years and that you won’t have to read them. But if this war drags on and my face keeps sliding south, I’ll still be here, doing what I can and trying not to let you down.
Thank you again for your kindness and support. You’ve been brilliant.
Greta Thunberg: "The President of the United States just said that a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again & no one is reacting. This speaks for itself: what the fuck is anyone even doing at this point? We have normalized genocide, total annihilation of entire people."
Dia dhaoibh ó Kyiv | Hello from Kyiv
☘️🇺🇦
I am in Ukraine to mark St Patrick’s Day and demonstrate Ireland’s unbreakable solidarity with Ukraine and its people.
A busy agenda of political, civil society, and community engagements.

Kyiv-bound 🇺🇦
Settling in for the overnight train journey to Kyiv in advance of meetings with government, parliament and civil society.

Sean Penn missed the Oscars ceremony where he received an Oscar, and went to Ukraine instead.
Thank you for standing with Ukraine, Sir! Congratulations!
Trump has cut 100% of support to Ukraine over the past year.
Don't be fooled 🇺🇲 American friends, he's left us to die here.
Pathetic president LOVES to prolong wars and start new ones.
Millions of tourists from around the planet in Dubai have just witnessed what Ukrainians have had to deal with right in front of them. Perhaps this is the moment the world wakes up and realises what happens when you allow dictators to run wild.
On 22 Feb, Dublin marked 4 years of Russia’s full-scale invasion with a peace march & rally supporting Ukraine. Ukrainians, Irish partners, politicians and diplomats stood united. Security of Ukraine is security of Europe. 🇺🇦 #StandWithUkraine
Just listened to it. Orwellian. Yet again.
She falsely claimed they supported sanctions on Russia.
She claimed it’s a waste of money for Ukraine to defend itself – just days after praising ‘defender of catholics’ Bik McFarlane.
And called Sinn Féin’s position ‘principled’!
@EastVeterans In her defence, I was at the rally today and her words were head and shoulders above what the other politicians said. Better and more precise and even hawkier pro Ukraine language. There was also a contingent in the march from Labour and Soc Dems, but no other parties.
A 23-year-old policewoman died as a result of the explosion. 😪
Victoria Shpylka was from Volyn, and later moved to Kherson with her parents.
She graduated from the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs and worked in the ranks of the patrol police, first in Kherson region, then in Lviv region.
R.I.P. 🕯💔
Fintan O’Toole draw parallels between Ukraine’s fight to live free of the Russian fascist yoke and Republican Spain’s struggle to defeat fascism – and how SF is proud of Irish republicans’ role in that noble cause.
Yet today, SF is betraying that heritage.
@fotoole exposes this terrible decision by Sinn Fein to support Putin's invasion of Ukraine
"Since Sinn Féin regards those brave Irish people who chose to intervene in Spain as heroes, one would assume that it has some understanding of the reasons why they were right to sacrifice their lives. But, astonishingly, Ireland’s largest political party is increasingly vehement in its insistence on, of all things, non-intervention. It insists, not just that Ireland should not help Ukraine to survive, but that no one should.https://t.co/SIZKs4FyqD
@Mylovanov@DucuGavril There's a certain cohort of Irish republican who has spent their lives claiming that the Irish Free State discarded the north of Ireland and that Dublin & Ireland are traitors, while at the same time insulting Ukraine and Zelensky for fighting to keep their country intact
