One of my favorite lessons I’ve learnt from working with smart people:
Action produces information. If you’re unsure of what to do, just do anything, even if it’s the wrong thing. This will give you information about what you should actually be doing.
Sounds simple on the surface - the hard part is making it part of your every day working process.
Thread about our work in progress.
1/ ☎️ Fibery Mobile app is in active development. We want to have beta release for selected users in 2 weeks and maybe general release will follow in November.
July 20th, 1969 is a date that stands high in my life – it was the day that we, together as one people, achieved the greatest scientific and technological feat in human history. The specific role that Neil, Mike and I performed in the event was but one part of an immeasurably larger effort – not just for our nation, but for all mankind. As I look back on what we accomplished 55 years ago, I am still inspired by what we all saw and did – the best of America and the best of humanity. Thank you for the privilege and the honor of serving you, and for being part of this exciting and wonderous journey with me. #Apollo11
You forgot these words:
“Whatever company officials and politicians say in the coming days, the harsh reality is that our transmission system failed the Beryl test. Badly.”

Scale increases complexity dramatically, but low scale does not mean low complexity. The common architecture of an RDBMS, a search database, and queues/workers for background work is already very complex.
Showers this morning will be hit & miss with severe weather risk primarily well north & northeast of Houston. A couple showers maybe this evening before cooler, drier weather this weekend! @mattlanza has details.

Composition of heterogenous components is a challenging & common problem in software.
Why do companies buy SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, et al? b/c of the “promise” the constituent pieces will work well together.
Stitching together many APIs into an application is still hard
Complexity is when two components are intertwined when they should be independent. However, there's another issue that can be just as vicious: two components being independent when they should be intertwined. I'll have a lot more to say about this when we launch later this month.
@nathanmarz Backend framework for rapid application development – no external datastore required, managed infra that seamlessly deploys across clouds and regions globally, configurable data locality and read/write consistency, with a realtime client sync solution (frontend & otherwise) 😁
So it has been 4 months since I've been laid off. I have been reluctant to make this post but I am currently still open to work. If anyone in my network knows of any positions available, I would greatly appreciate being reached out to.
3/ Calculate sentiment score for Intercom chats
Some chats may go wrong, so we want to detect such conversations and see what can be done to improve them. Here is the the action button that calculates sentiments based on AI prompt.
An interesting thing about ChatGPT is you can script in it a bit like you would in a programming language.
You can define functions, compose them, etc. Except all in natural language!
This means you can write out common tasks and attach them to command names. For example:
1/n
@mdubakov I think of threads, comments, and tasks (assigned items) as protocols (a la Clojure) that would be implemented by blocks etc. From the user’s perspective, they gain a single “inbox” with their “things to review and do” full of thread replies, comment mentions, and assigned items.
Five years ago, tonight, was the Saturday night when all hell broke loose over Houston during Hurricane Harvey. If you were here, you probably remember with crystal clarity where you were, what you were doing, and the sound of that damn, damn, incessant rainfall.
