Today I've resigned as Coordinator of my local Green Party.
I've poured so much into this party over the years. Evenings, weekends, campaigning, organising. I've genuinely given it everything.
I could stay quiet and sit on the sidelines, but that's just not me. If I think something is wrong, I'll say it.
Since speaking out I've had hundreds of abusive and threatening messages. Some are serious enough that I'll be taking them to the police.
And to people in the party who have the same concerns as me, please don't stay silent. Speak up. It matters.
I'm genuinely gutted it's come to this, but I have to stand by what I believe.
@RachelMoiselle This was the story that broke me into a thousand pieces. I will NEVER forget Thomas Hand saying at first, when he thought Emily was dead, thank god she wasn’t taken to Gaza, because we know what they do to people in Gaza. And then he found out she was.
for a long time i said that antisemitism, particularly on the american left, was not as bad as people claimed.
i'd like to just state that i was totally wrong.
i still don't understand it, really. or know what to do about it.
but it is so fucked.
The Green Party of England and Wales has crossed a line: it has made antisemitism official party policy.
Today in Brighton, members voted by 1,022 to 813 to declare that “Zionism is racism.” They also endorsed a single Palestinian state across all of historic Palestine, replacing Israel.
But the most revealing vote concerned their own Jewish members.
An amendment would have explicitly protected members attending organisations that identify as Zionist- including synagogues and prayer groups- from being accused of racism simply for that affiliation.
It was defeated, by 1,026 votes to 684.
That means people could face disciplinary proceedings for attending a synagogue that identifies as Zionist.
To understand the significance, we also need to understand the history. “Zionism is racism” is an old political campaign with a very specific institutional legacy.
On November 10, 1975, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 3379, declaring Zionism a form of racism and racial discrimination. Arab governments and the Soviet bloc were central to the campaign that brought this equation into the UN’s machinery against racism. (https://t.co/i0yFLr99sS, https://t.co/zdMDniRG3n)
It took sixteen years to reverse it.
On December 16, 1991, the General Assembly adopted Resolution 46/86, revoking that determination. Sixteen years during which the United Nations had given its authority to the proposition that Jewish national self-determination was inherently racist. (https://t.co/i0yFLr99sS)
In 2026, a European party claiming to embody progressive values has revived that equation as its own policy.
It makes Jewish collective existence subject to a discriminatory test. National self-determination is defended as a right for Palestinians, while the Jewish movement for national self-determination is condemned as racism in itself.
For many British Jews, their connection to Israel runs through family relationships, synagogue life, education, youth movements, history and memory. The Green Party has adopted a definition that can turn those attachments into grounds for suspicion.
The UN took sixteen years to revoke this equation. The Greens have now brought it into their party’s rulebook of political acceptability.
Their European sister parties must decide whether their commitment to fighting antisemitism has consequences when the offender belongs to their own political family.
Condemnation should be the minimum. @marinetondelier@EELV@GrueneBundestag
The big mistake in the Zionism is Racism resolution is actually not the rejection of Zionism but the abandonment of the internationally agreed support for a Palestinian state alongside Israel. The fact that a left party rejects this is a gift to the Israeli right. Amateurs.
"If I didn't let her go, she'd still be alive" 💔
On October 7, Yael Idan watched Hamas terrorists murder her older sister, Maayan. They then kidnapped her father, Tzachi, and promised to bring him back.
He was murdered in captivity. Only his body returned.
These are the lives Hamas shattered. These are the voices the world must hear.
Listen to Yael’s testimony.
Share her story.
Never let October 7 be forgotten. 🕯️
As a Muslim, I have no problem with Jewish people. Extremist rhetoric often portrays Jews in dehumanizing and hateful ways, which can fuel hatred, violence, and terrorism.
I have studied Judaism extensively because my academic background includes a Master’s specialization in theology, religions, and contemporary sects. I have also studied the Holocaust—the systematic persecution and murder of six million European Jews by Nazi Germany and its collaborators during World War II.
I am deeply troubled by being part of a society where some views toward Jews are shaped by hatred and hostility. I do not share those views. I believe that rejecting antisemitism and the dehumanization of Jews is both a moral and intellectual responsibility.
Dozens of bullets were fired by Hamas terrorists at the door of Tamar and Johnny’s safe room on October 7.
Even as they lay dying, Tamar and Johnny kept holding the door shut, trying to protect little Shahar, Arbel, and Omer until their final moments.
Tamar managed to send a text saying they had been shot and were critically wounded.
Then the terrorists set the house on fire.
Tamar, Johnny, Shahar, Arbel, and Omer all burned to death.
I have been displaced for three years, moving from one tent to another in southern Gaza. I have not been directly or nearby hit by a strike, but I live with a constant, terrifying fear: the sound of Israeli army gunfire around the Yellow Line.
Every shot makes me fear that a bullet or fragment could come through the sky and hit me. My tent is only fabric—it cannot protect me from bullets or shrapnel. I live in Al-Bureij, right near the Yellow Line.
🛑A shocking scene in the Netherlands.
Sabine Tasa , whose husband Gil and son Or were murdered by Hamas on October 7 confronted filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Shor during a screening of Naza in Delft.
“Look me in the eyes. You talk about collateral damage? My husband and my son were murdered by Hamas. Where is that in your film?”
According to reports, several people in the audience responded: “We don’t care,” “Shame on you,” and “We don’t want to hear.”
Imagine saying those words to a mother standing in front of you after her husband and son were murdered.😢💔
It’s weird, because Maté and co are constantly trying to separate Jews from Zionists and yet here he is saying NY Jews don’t deserve protection cause…Israel?
Wow.
Just seen this video of a parent from Gaza who says he is sending his child to a private tutor instead of public school because he doesn't want his children to be indoctrinated by Hamas to want to "buy a gun and shoot Jews".
Such brainwashing must be ended completely.
Israel is denying 2 Jewish activists from becoming citizens, in violation of the Law of Return. The Jewish activists were detained while attempting to shield Palestinians from settler terrorism in the WB. Further proof that the Israeli state is backing settler terrorism.

In 2014, I briefed Ed Miliband from the outlook between Mount Scopus and the Mount of Olives, overlooking E-1.
When I was done, he took me aside to talk for a while.
I knew he'd be good. I couldn't imagine he'd be this good.
For those of us slogging it out in the trenches, it is deeply gratifying to hear what he's saying.
Israel has revoked the aliyah eligibility of two young Jewish activists, one British and one American, who have worked to protect Palestinian communities in the West Bank from settler and military violence. These are the first known cases in which the authorities appear to be violating the Law of Return, which grants every Jew the right to immigrate to Israel.
