@DrNiravPandya Or the emphasis on max strength work in other sports pushes the CNS beyond what the suboptimal connective tissue can tolerate. Soccer historically has been against lifting. Power Lifting-esque style of training is strongly engrained in US sports.
@StrengthDebates This is huge for sports that create moments of impact. Baseball, soccer, hockey or any striking martial art would all benefit from this. Connective tissue has its own properties from muscle. It needs to be able to rapidly stiffen to transmit the muscles forces.
@StrengthDebates Failure is failure. You can only recruit 100% of units. The time that it takes to reach failure is important. Failing in 1:06 or less loads the fast twitch fibers preferentially. Loading times beyond that 1:06 mark will be slow twitch by nature. Intent matters.

Now apply strength training principles to the specific tissue in need ie tendon, and then think about the types of stimuli tendons need. Length and load. Positional isometrics(length) and ECC/EQI to length facilitate that.

@StrengthDebates What is the purpose for the exercise selection is what it depends on. Is it to add more mass posteriorly? Is it to lynch pin and maximally compress the CNS? The external feat of strength is just an expression of the internal environment.

@StrengthDebates I would be inclined to agree and their methods of testing strength at the combine, 225 for reps doesn’t help the argument. Regardless a high muscle output with suboptimal intramuscular connective tissue is a ticking time bomb.
@StrengthDebates What are you deloading from tho is the question? If you’re deloading to reduce cns strain then I’m not sure that changing exercises that still crush your cns make sense?
