@macsquirelera I’m thinking a lot of these would go from suburban GO stations to other communities. like from Brampton GO to the north and south, or from Guelph to Kitchener, Hamilton to Brantford.
4/ I have an idea for the Prime Minister: why don’t we pull a Norway?
Let’s put a windfall tax on oil and gas companies that are projected to make $90B in profits this year because of Trump’s illegal war in Iran. Then, let’s use that money to fill up the Sovereign Wealth fund — and invest in projects that benefit Canadians instead of a few wealthy investors and CEOs.
Good evening: this is your semi-regular reminder that you can’t preserve or strengthen democracy without democratizing the economy and giving workers a greater share of wealth and control in the workplace.
We were at this event representing passengers.
Let's get building - the federal cuts to passenger service in western Canada in the 1980s were a big mistake.
Let me be frank — I’m a different kind of Liberal.
We’re going to give our police officers and associations the funding they need to keep our communities safe.
@JessicaBellTO Could a city theoretically remove a lane to replace it with on-street parking for an indeterminate amount of time before converting the parking to a bike lane?
What happened to postal banking?
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has long argued that postal banking, which Canadians had until 1968, would be a big profitable program for Canada Post and save millions of Canadians from being robbed by the big banks. 1/2
Bye bye Furey 👋👋
Furey thought he'd win on name recognition and wanted to avoid running on his harmful record. We didn't let that happen.
Our incredible volunteers dropped 22,000+ flyers telling voters the truth about Furey! When voters learned the truth, they rejected him.
@TransitNews1@WBMetro62 Installing intermittent passing tracks is how you get to that point. Targeted infrastructure investments means more benefit can be created across the network sooner.
Ideally plans are being made with future HSR to SWO in mind however we know that that is not the case...
Props to @Metrolinx for this great PSA on the work they're doing and how it can unlock two-way all-day service to Kitchener
...Oh wait, this is the public doing their job for them and we still don't know when Kitchener will get 2WAD service
Great work @WBMetro62 as always
Yesterday morning a brand new piece of track on the Kitchener Line was put into service.
This means two trains heading in opposite directions can pass each other between Georgetown and Kitchener GO, something previously impossible until trains reached east of Georgetown GO.
