Excited about our new publication in Epigenetics defining a model to test glycemic memory and the potential role of glucose as a signaling molecule to lead to sustained susceptibility to exacerbated remodeling in response to subsequent pressure overload. https://t.co/slBEpSJ1EE
Been awhile since I've logged in but have great reason to this week. SHVM 2025 Registration is now open! If you are passionate about cardiovascular metabolism this is a must attend meeting. This year in Bordeaux, France. More details here: https://t.co/lZcH87e4LH
There are only a few meetings I like to attend. However, those from the KSoLA in Korea have always been a favorite. Please consider attending if you can!

Congratulations for another marker passed in your career. Very happy to see all that you've accomplished and eager to see what the next "mile" brings you!
Another big day for the Pepins! Big thanks to @BrighamMedRes for the training, friendships, mentors, and incredible patients. Moving westward isn’t “goodbye,” but perhaps just a longer commute from @StanCVFellows.
One final shout out to @LukeSkyrunner, a large dose of thanks for what he did for our group, and a prayer for the future I know he is going to make for himself in his new role as a bioinformatician!
Please join me in congratulating Luke!

Happy to have hosted @AaronOlson15 for the @UABPathology Grand Rounds. He gave an outstanding talk on his O-GlcNAcylation & HBP work. Reminding us once again that it is not always glucose flux regulated and contexts in which it can be beneficial. And enjoyed great conversations!
Interesting new publication from the laboratory of @bnfinck about muscle/liver crosstalk, metabolism, and exercise performance.

Thank you #AbbottWMM 6-star challenge & @orangebeachruns for inspiring me to do it.
Thank you #MarathonTours for helping secure the final Tokyo star. THANK YOU to those that helped me raise funds for @TeamforKids & @TeamInTraining!
What next? Not sure but looking forward to it!
More great work from @AtHinton lab has led to the front cover & inside cover. Thank you @IntMedAbel for your mentorship! Thank you @KattiiPrasanna for being my co-first & thank you, Drs. @brianglancylab & @RePereira
Thank you @WileyGlobal Press & the Journal of Cell Physiology
New Review! Chatham & Patel discuss how protein glycosylation contributes to normal #cardiovascular function and its role in cardiovascular disease: https://t.co/3bLfxzaNqX
Congratulations to my now former student Dr. Potter!
Very proud of how @LukeSkyrunner defended his thesis in his private defense today. It was great having him in @TheWendeLab through his training and I wish him the best of luck as he starts his next stage as a bioinformatician!
Perfect capstone visit @ Kyungpook University, Daegu; to discuss our ongoing collaborations with In-kyu Lee and Jae-Han Jeon, present on our recent publication on O-GlcNAc and heart failure, while throwing in a summit hike and one final dinner discussion before the journey home.
Always happy to present updates on our work and hear about the progress of my colleagues Hyoung Kyu Kim and Jin Han @CMDC_Busan. In addition to the stimulating discussions over dinner with the trainees, enjoyed a hike, food, and of course a little karaoke 😉!
Super thankful to @IppeiShimizuJPN for an outstanding start to my first visit to Japan at the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center (NCVC), Osaka; sharing our work and great discussions with his colleagues & trainees; delicious food & touring potential future SHVM venues!
