The @SP_Justice Cttee commented on the positive impact of in cell mobiles based on evidence from @FamiliesOutside and @hmipscot in their Pre Budget Scrutiny Report 👉 https://t.co/rm2pxBaza2
Very disappointing to see @ScotTories calling for the immediate withdrawal of in cell telephony with no engagement with families affected by imprisonment across Scotland. In cell mobiles have been a life line for families.
The SNP's 'unhackable' phones - that cost the taxpayer £2.7 million - are being hacked by prisoners and used to deal drugs.
Instead of temporarily confiscating the handsets, they must be removed from Scotland's prisons immediately.
Understandable concerns have been raised over the last few months. @FamiliesOutside have stressed the overwhelming benefits of in cell telephony 👉 https://t.co/udJD6OtmzX
