In the spirit of ‘fair play’, we express our appreciation to the many journalists in the United States, Canada, and beyond who worked diligently to disseminate accurate information to the public during the recent lockout.
As officials, we all know what is fair, and we appreciate the many reporters who sought out balanced information.
As a result, fans, players, coaches, and the entire soccer community were presented with quality information.

Members of the Professional Soccer Referees Association (PSRA) voted to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement on Monday.
The ratification of the CBA brings an end to a lockout that had seen MLS start its season with replacement referees.

Since I've been vocal on here and the news is out....
We're back. The professional officials of the PSRA are back on the field and in the VAR booth.
A huge thanks to the hundreds of officials who sat this out in solidarity - it meant the world.
1/x
We continue to give a huge shout-out to the #MLS fans and supporters groups who have come up with some great ways to support us over the first few weeks of the season.
From boycotts of games, to boycotts of merch and concessions, to banners/cards/signs...we thank you for your continued support. Keep it up - we are resilient, and we know you are as well.
MLS Execs say everything is fine, but we think the fans know better. We know the players do, and we again thank @MLSPA for their support.
Today's news in @TheAthleticSCCR makes it clear MLS is OK with the replacement refs and their streak of decisions that have adversely affected some teams. This league is better than that.
We thank you for the support and can't wait to hear you in each stadium soon.

Fact check @thesoccerdon: It is grossly inaccurate to say that players think that the current group of referees are doing a "good job."
In fact, players are very clear that the replacements are under-trained, lack experience and are not nearly at the level that a league of @MLS's stature deserves.
My latest for @goal: An opinionated longform look at what is happening with @MLS@PROreferees and the @PSRAofficials
Details on reactions, consequences, errors, comments and more from around the league.
Was excited to write this. Please take time🙏

We stand in solidarity with @PSRAofficials. We deserve professional referees and they deserve fair pay.
We’re showing a card to @MLS and @PROreferees for time wasting! Quit demeaning the game and get to the bargaining table!
These are refereeing fundamentals. Like basic 101 type things. These replacement refs are so far in over their heads, and it’s actively damaging the MLS product and impacting results.
@ramonbermudez__ Most likely (like 99.9%) he was contacted. He showed integrity and solidarity with his colleagues and said “no thank you”. #fairpayisfairplay
We are grateful to all who have made this courageous choice.
@NTXRefProgram@ntxsoccer_ you could have just continued to remain silent…like normal. To actively choose to publicly fail to support those who have worked at the highest levels and supported referee development in NTX for years is disappointing. Choices are being made.
Jim Curtin knew.
Peter Vermes knew.
Johnny Russell knew.
The broadcasters knew - and I’ve heard there are limits on what the crews can say about it.
The replacement refs made a clearly game-deciding mistake.
When is it enough?
