The elite are in Champaign.
@CoachUnderwood is locked in through 2032 and could extend through 2036 based on team performance over the next four seasons.

A two-pronged development approach in the weight room and on the court helped turn @IlliniMBB freshman guard Keaton Wagler (@KeatonW34) into a one-and-done All-American. #Illini
Story from @srrichey:

Illinois freshman guard Keaton Wagler – ranked No. 5 in ESPN's Top 100 – has declared for the 2026 NBA draft, his agency ProMondo Sports tells me and @JeremyWoo. Wagler led the 28-9 Fighting Illini to the Final Four for the first time since 2005.
I asked #Illini strength and conditioning coach Adam Fletcher about how much this team has progressed since day one:
"They just have embraced the physicality, the toughness that it takes... honestly just been a joy to coach."
Says David Mirkovic has slimmed down from 268lbs to 242lbs since coming to Champaign, and Keaton Wagler has bulked up from 168lbs to 192lbs.
From floor spacer to a defensive anchor, Ben Humrichous is the X-factor Illinois needs for their Final Four run.
We met with Coach Adam Fletcher, Keaton Kutcher, and Humrichous to break down the offseason work that changed everything. #Illini

#Illini vet Kylan Boswell on how important the “personality test” is for this roster:
“I don’t think this program will ever have anybody with egos, and people who are just straight a-holes in that such, and you won’t survive in this program if that’s your personality.”
