The primarily issue being that their sales appears to be nearly entirely funded by the government/DFG.

One of the chief selling points of a Land Value Tax is that it improves economic efficiency. But if people can't respond to the tax by using their land more efficiently - because of planning restrictions - or if you exempt social housing (as Dan concedes) then you don't get that.

Scoop: Andy Burnham will vote FOR Shabana Mahmood's immigration crackdown in the Commons tonight.

Dozens of Labour MPs had written to him urging him to water down the Immigration and Asylum Bill, warning the party is “losing progressive voters”.

But a spokesperson tells HuffPost UK: "This Bill takes important steps towards restoring confidence by tackling illegal crossings while strengthening safe and legal routes for genuine refugees.

A great many people agree he raised the tax principally in response to Huey Long (FDR's own son even suggests as much) the tax raised a negligible amount of money because so few people fit the top brackets
