A pregnant woman was rushed to the hospital this evening after spending several hours in active labour.

She was a Muslim woman who wore a niqab. Her husband had initially taken her to a midwife clinic, but when complications arose, they rushed her to the hospital’s emergency unit.

Unfortunately, the doctor available was a man.

Her husband refused to let him attend to his wife, insisting that only a female doctor could deliver her baby.

Despite the medical team’s explanation, he remained adamant. He believed his wife could still deliver naturally and insisted on taking her to another hospital where a female doctor was available.

The woman was already in severe pain after hours of labour, but her husband insisted on leaving.

Tragically, as they were leaving the hospital, she delivered her baby inside her husband’s car but died shortly afterwards
