@HMRCcustomers I’m just looking for some advice on whether I would need to register for self assessment. I am employed with the NHS which I am obviously taxed for but I have started filling in medical forms for the DVLA. They are paid to me by cheque but it is not consistent 1/2

@HMRCcustomers In all honesty I don’t know as they are so sporadic with how many I’m receiving. The number that I receive has gone down drastically in the last few months

But over the last few months I have had £1100 from this though going forward I don’t think it would be nearly this much

As some months I won’t get anything and others I’ll get a few. How would I go about paying the tax on this additional income as when I look at self assessment it asks if I’m self employed and need to register as a sole trader which I don’t think is right? Thanks
