If Microsoft deprecated WSUS, why is it still included with Windows Server 2025?
@adamj_1 joins RunAs Radio to separate fact from fiction and explain where WSUS still shines today.

WSUS was deprecated in 2024. Does that mean it's going away? @adamj_1 joins RunAs Radio to explain why WSUS is still critical for Configuration Manager, offline environments, and granular update control.

@WinthropDC@troyhunt Brevo also keeps unsubscribed contacts, and with good reasons. Any website synchronization system would put them back in as (at least in the WP Brevo plugin) it is a 1-way sync, especially from an e-commerce store.
@shakepay You should make exceptions for those who SOLELY use the card for purchases. Say a minimum of 300 dollars a week or more or x/month. I don't buy through shakepay but I use the card exclusively and spend at least 300 a week. Just spent 1700i over the last 10 days for car repairs
@WindowsUpdate Remember everyone using WSUS, you must import this OOB update into WSUS. Check out Import-WsusUpdate from the PowerShell Gallery to import this easily. https://t.co/vvBwrynp99
@SBSDiva Thanks for the heads up. I've added something to https://t.co/WoPViui7sw to take care of this (update GPO Templates/WUfB policies - don't specify them)
#FunFact we don't force Windows Updates while the device is running on battery (not plugged in).
This is why we recommend users charge their laptops overnight or leave them plugged in when they go out to lunch to ensure that the device can update when they aren't there.
@ariaupdated Microsoft beat us to it, however AJ Tek had been working on a FREE solution since the middle of July that is more powerful. It has MORE FEATURES like pulling by KB number, automatically downloading, limiting only the specific architecture, etc.

Ensure your #Apps automatically reopen where they left off after a restart! #AppDevelopment on #Windows
(Know an #AppDeveloper? Tell them to leverage these native APIs to automatically restart their Apps in the same place after a Windows update)

@WinthropDC@troyhunt We do the same thing with the W-8BEN-E form. If you do it right the first time, it lasts for the rest of the calendar year and 3 years after and generally only needs a date change after the 3rd year.
SQUEEEE!!! Best new button ever! The update catalog appears to have a copy button next to the UpdateID. No more grabbing it from the URL. Bonus points will be given if you know why I still have an 11 year old KB# memorized.
