#FunFact my bosses will be at #MicrosoftIgnite and they want to hear from folks who are attending about their #Windows management experiences. Interested? Sign up here: https://t.co/GUthEX5Awi
@ryandengstrom@richardhicks@guyrleech It will be coming soon to commercial systems and be the automatic behavior. Then you will have the ability to Autopatch to mark specific updates to break the fold (aka go before the quality update).
PSA The one restart a month feature is currently only turned on for Consumers. We are working on bringing this to commercial soon - updating the blog to clarify now. We are just waiting until we have the appropriate commercial controls in place to manage such. :)
@jcoehoorn@JenMsft@NathanMcNulty So there is already the ability to disable a users ability to restart / change things on the Windows Update Settings page. That said, I am curious how many of your users are going to the settings page unprompted, let alone restarting once there while things are still pending?
@acjuelich@NathanMcNulty@JenMsft Fun fact, there are actually people (and certain test cases) where users do want that. Especially since most people actually coming to the update settings page are advanced users or sent there from a notification (which only happens after everything installs)
@NathanMcNulty Appreciate the feedback, we're looking at changing this to better enable the users on both sides (restart ASAP since the thing I care about is ready / don't restart till everything is installed). In either case, we will not notify you about restarting till everything installs. :)
@gdcsp That should absolutely not be the case. I would doubt that is from this change, given it is not applicable in commercial, but if you want to share your logs / feedbackhub bug with logs I'm happy to take a look.
@miaminemo Completely understood, and updating is in progress. Currently it is not supported yet in commercial (ConfigMngr/Intune/Autopatch/etc). Will ensure docs are clearer from the beginning. Apologies for the need for a support case :(
@MyNameIsMurray 1. Yup! All driver updates that require a reboot would automatically fall under such. Would you like those that simply install (no reboot) to as well?
2. Murray apologies, that is horrible... I don't suppose you have logs from any of those devices?
@devangchheda_@UniverseCitiz3n Increasing grace period will certainly help with ensuring more notifications. That said, we are also doing work to enable more notifications for folks that want such as well given many need tighter deadlines with today's security landscape. Will share more soon! :)
Excited to finally be getting back to conferences with #MicrosoftIgnite then #WorkplaceNinjasUS. It's going to be great! If you're going to be at either event and want to connect, please just let me know! I'd love to schedule time. ๐
@Shaeck Just messaged you directly. To confirm: you're seeing devices in update rings get the quality update offered per deferrals, yet those in the new QU approval and scheduling have not yet (what deferral did you set for them? Can you share the policy info - here or in chat)
The *new* Quality Update Approval and Scheduling flow will override any set group policies / CSPs (including those set in the Update Rings page). https://t.co/5zZ1GzVQR1
