Governor A. A. Sule, while explaining in Hausa why he endorsed Sen. Wadada as the APC consensus candidate in Nasarawa State, said it was based on fairness and equity.
He explained that the Lafia zone had produced governors for about 13 years, the Keffi zone for about 8 years, while his own Akwanga zone, which he is about to complete his tenure in, has also had about 8 years. Therefore, he felt it was only fair to return the governorship to the Keffi zone.
He also stated that he met with all stakeholders from the Keffi zone and asked them to present one person who could win the election and succeed him. Initially, they gave him the mandate to choose any qualified person among them.
After careful consideration, he concluded that Senator Wadada was the most capable of winning the election across Nasarawa State, which was why he chose him as the consensus candidate.
