Uba Sani Gives Financial Lifeline To Artisans, Promises Job Opportunities
Governor Uba Sani has approved ₦200,000 for each of the 4,050 graduates of Kaduna State Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, amounting to ₦810 million, to ease their transition from training to productive work.
The Governor who made the pledge at the maiden graduation ceremony at the Balarabe Musa campus of the Institute at Rigachukun on Thursday, disclosed that the fund will be administered through the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency.
The financial support is to enable the graduates purchase essential tools and use it as seed money for initial working capital, professional registration or transport fare to look for employment opportunities, he added.
Governor Uba Sani said that Kaduna State Government is also ‘’ engaging companies and industries to create opportunities for direct employment, apprenticeships, internships, mentorship, subcontracting and other structured engagements.’’
‘’ We are also developing a digital platform to connect graduates with employers and track employment outcomes. Our measure of success will ultimately go beyond enrolment and graduation figures; it will be the number of graduates employed, enterprises created, incomes improved, contracts secured and communities transformed,’’ he promised.
The Governor said that having qualified for the National Skills Qualification Level II, the graduates ‘’ represent a new generation of skilled citizens prepared to create value for themselves, their families, their communities and the wider economy.’’
He argued that his administration is ‘’ building an ecosystem where young persons will be self reliant ‘’ where a woman can transform a skill into an enterprise; where a person living with disability can participate fully in the economy; and where an artisan can move from informal subsistence to globally competitive craftsmanship.’’
According to him, Kaduna State has three campuses of the Institute, namely the Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa Campus, Rigachikun; Abubakar Dangiwa Umar Campus, Soba; and Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Campus, Samaru Kataf.
Governor Uba Sani pointed out that the Institute was conceived as engines of economic transformation, aimed ‘’ to equip our people with skills that are useful in Kaduna, competitive in Nigeria and relevant to the wider world.’’
Describing the training as ‘’ deliberately practical, complemented by theory, literacy, numeracy, entrepreneurship and soft skills,’’ he said that graduates were trained across fourteen trade areas.
The trade areas include electrical installation, welding and fabrication, 2aluminium fabrication, computer hardware repairs and maintenance, catering and hospitality, masonry, refrigeration and air conditioning.
Different categories of the graduates were also taught fashion design and garment making, carpentry and joinery, painting and decoration, tiling, plumbing and pipe fitting, solar installation, and automotive mechatronics, the Governor added.
According to him, the Institute’s partnership with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) enables it ‘’to deliver training in accordance with National Occupational Standards and award the National Skills Qualification under the Nigerian Skills Qualifications Framework.
The Governor emphasized that training across the three campuses is tuition-free, adding that particular attention is given to women, persons with disabilities and young people from underserved communities.
He said that his administration has also built an institutional framework to sustain the vision of skills acquisition and development, with the inauguration of Kaduna State Council On Skills, which he chairs.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Council on Skills have recognised ‘’Kaduna’s pioneering approach and commending the Kaduna Model as a template for a grassroots,

Earlier today, I attended the Maulud Nabiyy celebration organised by Fityanul Islam, Kaduna Chapter, at Murtala Square, Kaduna, where I was warmly received by a large and jubilant gathering.
I used the occasion to express my profound appreciation to our religious leaders, particularly the Imams and Ulamas, for their tireless efforts in promoting peace, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence across our communities. Their moral authority and sustained commitment remain invaluable to the preservation of harmony in our State.
I also urged our people to cherish and protect the peace that has made it possible for us to gather freely and joyfully in celebration of the life and exemplary teachings of our Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The successful observance of this year’s Maulud Nabiyy is, in many respects, a testament to the progress we are making in restoring peace and stability across Kaduna State. We must therefore remain united in our determination to consolidate these gains and build a durable foundation for peaceful coexistence.
I assured our people of faith that our administration will continue to support initiatives that strengthen interfaith dialogue, deepen mutual respect and advance peace, unity and shared prosperity. Together, we shall build a Kaduna anchored in justice, tolerance and collective progress.

Resident Doctors Commend Governor Uba Sani for Prioritising Welfare, Remuneration, and Healthcare Infrastructure
The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has lauded the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for his administration's sustained commitment to upgrading the healthcare sector and improving the working conditions of medical doctors.
In a communiqué released at the end of its July 2026 National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Gombe, the national body of resident doctors singled out Governor Uba Sani for prioritising the welfare of medical practitioners within Kaduna State.
According to NARD, Governor Sani's strategic interventions have delivered targeted improvements in:
- Remuneration: Enhancing the financial package and entitlements for resident doctors.
- Healthcare Infrastructure: Upgrading facility standards and medical equipment across state health centres.
- Manpower Development & Working Conditions: Facilitating continuous training and fostering a safer, conducive working environment for medical professionals.
Commending these achievements, NARD urged other state governors across the federation to emulate Governor Uba Sani's leadership model in order to strengthen healthcare delivery nationwide and address manpower challenges in the medical sector.
It was a blend of joy and honour to attend the annual ABUSRC Cultural Carnival yesterday as a special guest. As an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, it was a proud moment to see our friend and brother, former Accountant General Bashir Zuntu—incoming member representing Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency- honoured by the student body for supporting them.
Returning to campus for an event like this was a deeply reflective experience that brought back fond memories of my undergraduate days.
Kudos to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Abdullahi, for his relentless drive to restore the university to its glory days. We deeply appreciate his warm reception and gladly convey his heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for transforming the campus with an extensive new road network.

Kaduna, Partners Deepen Investment in Primary Healthcare, Deploy Adolescent, MNCH Supplies
The Kaduna State Government and development partners have strengthened their collaboration to improve primary healthcare delivery, with the deployment of Adolescent and Young People (AYP) Safe Space equipment and Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) consumables to selected health facilities across the state.
Launching the intervention on Tuesday at the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe said the initiative demonstrated the value of sustained government-partner collaboration in addressing critical health needs.
She said the intervention, supported by Global Affairs Canada through UNICEF, would provide adolescents and young people with access to youth-friendly health information, counselling and services, while the MNCH commodities would strengthen facilities’ capacity to provide quality care to mothers, newborns and children.
Balarabe noted that the state government had continued to prioritize health under its SUSTAIN Agenda, including allocating at least 15 per cent of the state budget to the sector for infrastructure, medicines and equipment, human resources and maintenance of health facilities.
She, however, stressed that government resources alone could not meet the needs of the growing population, making strategic partnerships essential to strengthening the health system.
The Deputy Governor charged the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board and benefiting facilities to ensure proper utilization, maintenance, accountability and sustainability of the donated resources.
The event brought together the State health team led by Commissioner of Health Umma K. Ahmed, PHC Board management and staff led by Executive Secretary Professor Yusuf Bello Jamo, UNICEF, Gates Foundation and other development partners, as well as members of the public.
