I fear for Somalia. If Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has begun turning Turkish drones intended to fight Al-Shabaab against his political opponents, then Somalia has crossed a terrifying red line.
This danger did not begin today. Since 2023, Hassan Sheikh and his allies have repeatedly branded critics and opposition figures as “ Al-Shabaab, terrorists or Khawaarij” That is not leadership it is the weaponisation of counter-terrorism language to silence dissent and justify political aggression.
Somalia has sacrificed too much and fought too hard to rebuild its security institutions. Do not drag the country backwards, endanger international support, or risk renewed arms restrictions simply to protect one man’s political power.
Turkish drones were brought to Somalia to fight terrorists not to intimidate rivals or settle political scores. Somalia belongs to its people, not to Hassan Sheikh and his inner circle. Do not destroy the nation’s fragile progress with reckless, power-hungry politics.
Four brothers serving as SNA and NISA soldiers say their home was demolished in Mogadishu while they were on the front lines, leaving their children homeless. They say they were asked to pay $18,000 to keep their home, but each earns just $200 a month and cannot afford it.
SubhanAllah. 🤍 We make sujood because 🅰️🅻🅻🅰️🅷 commanded us—not because science validates it.
Yet it is beautiful that research has observed changes associated with relaxation in the brain and nervous system during Salah. The more we learn, the more we appreciate the wisdom in what 🅰️🅻🅻🅰️🅷 has prescribed. 🌿
Sudan’s army said it shot down a hostile drone that crossed into southeastern Blue Nile state from Ethiopian territory, the third such incident reported along the border in recent days.
#Sudan has accused #Ethiopia of orchestrating and allowing cross-border drone attacks against Sudanese sites, including Khartoum International Airport.
#SouthAfrica | Armed gang abducts Somali Sheikh and businessman Abdisamad in Johannesburg
Sheikh Abdisamad, a Somali businessman and member of the Al-Bayaan Council of Scholars, was abducted this morning by armed men from his business in Tembisa, Johannesburg.
The gunmen stormed the premises, took him away by force and wounded one employee. His whereabouts remain unknown, while police continue searching for him and the kidnappers. Al-Bayaan has confirmed the abduction.
A striking exchange unfolded during a forced eviction operation in Mogadishu.
A child asked a soldier: “Did Hassan Sheikh send you?”
“Do you know Hassan Sheikh?” the soldier replied.
“I know him. He demolishes every house,” the child answered, before breaking into a teasing song linking the president to land grabbing and the looting of wealth.
Another child then said: “If Hassan Sheikh comes here, I will shoot him.” #Somalia

Are you aware of what Somalia offers Türkiye in return?
Some Turkish commenters seem to misunderstand the nature of the relationship between Somalia and Türkiye. This is a partnership based on mutual interests, not a one-sided relationship.
Why should Somalia be expected to adopt every Turkish policy, especially when a particular policy conflicts with Somalia’s own national interests?
Please stop using this kind of rhetoric. It creates unnecessary tension between Somalis and Turks and gives those hostile to both countries exactly what they want.
Somali women traders are being assaulted and forced to shut their shops in Durban CBD as anti-foreigner protests escalate.
The March and March group is targeting foreign-owned businesses, including Somali-run shops, with some shop owners reportedly being beaten for refusing to close.
10 Signs of a Good Death in Islam (Husn-ul-Khatimah)
Every Muslim hopes for a blessed ending known as Husn-ul-Khatimah, which means leaving this world with faith and Allah’s mercy. Islamic teachings mention some signs that may indicate a good and peaceful death for a believer.
Among these signs are reciting the Shahada as the last words, passing away on a blessed day such as Friday, or leaving this world while performing good deeds or worship. Some narrations also mention that a believer may have sweat on the forehead at the time of death, which is considered a sign of mercy.
A person who spends life in obedience to Allah, helps others, prays regularly, and remembers Allah often may receive a peaceful ending. The angels come with mercy and comfort for such believers, bringing good news of Paradise.
This reminder encourages us to live a righteous life, increase our good deeds, and prepare for the Akhirah (the hereafter) because every soul will eventually return to Allah.📌📌🌹👏
Even the Somali Embassy in China rolled out the red carpet for them 😂 Hassan Sheikh’s TikTok cabinet in full effect. I watched and cringed zero decorum. One in a rainbow silk dress, another proudly announcing, “I’m going shopping’.” Embarrassing.
