What are the perspectives through which people relate to nature? Why are they important?
@ipbes#ValuesAssessment presents 4 general perspectives to make new typology of values useful for decision-making. These are: living from, with, in & as nature.

Week 307. Earlier this week, 10 environmental activists from the group Mother Nature Cambodia were sentenced to six to eight years in prison after peacefully protesting for clean water.
This is yet another unacceptable example of the global trend where activists and land defenders are being criminalised and faced with ever increasing repression.
The right to peaceful protest cannot be compromised. Activists continue to resist state repression and continuing to speak up for all of our rights, freedom and safety. But they need all the support they can get. We all need to raise our voices to #DefendTheDefenders
I stand in solidarity with my friends in Mother Nature Cambodia and demand their immediate release, along with all political prisoners.

@neilfromneath The word glib is derived from the German word glibberig which means slippery or slimy. Related words are glibber, glibbest, glibly, glibness. I judge my response to be sober, sincere, with a hint of sour ;)
Today a group of us went for a trespass in a temperate rainforest. Holne Chase is an Atlantic oakwood on the Dart that was open to the public a century ago when William Crossing wrote his guide to Dartmoor (1909). Today, no access & it’s owned by a firm registered in Gibraltar...
Another perspective on the diesel dystopia #ClimateAction#criticalmass#DieselDystopia oil is far too precious a resource to be squandered on trips to the supermarket etc.
Thought for the day: One gallon of petrol is composed of 89 tons of prehistoric organic matter. 89 tons. An average pine tree weighs 2 tons.
Think how inefficient your car really is.
@onjolo_kenya I understand. But you could break it down into a couple if broad themes i.e. Political lobbying; communication; research and innovation; local landmanagment; grassroots mobilization. You can still connect with all - but choose 1 focus based on your skills, passion, network :)

@BonnieBouma@NatGeo Climate change is here, has been for a while. The question is whether we can survive cascade failures of the #tippingpoint s we are crashing towards #ClimateCrisis ignorance is not an option
Rich countries, including US, Canada, Japan and much of western Europe, account for just 12% of the global population today but produce about 50% of all the planet-warming greenhouse gases from #fossilfuels
They have the biggest responsibility to respond to the #climatecrisis
Financial institutions and companies with the most influence are undermining global climate targets by failing to guarantee that their products are not driving deforestation #forest500#ClimateAction#ActOnClimate#deforestation

From Sweden to Romania, activists have been protesting this week across 14 countries against EU-driven #deforestation
Their message is crystal clear: Nature destruction must be off the EU market!✊🏼
