Gill was not a blood thirsty crazy. When policemen’s families started being killed by the terrorists he responded with equal brutality. He understood the Jat Sikh better than you do. Without him Punjab would have burned for another decade.
Short story. In his writings, Ambedkar argued that Shri Ram was unworthy of being held up as a model of ethical conduct, calling him cowardly and describing him as "enjoying the company of women". To honour this great Ram bhakta, the people in charge of the Ram Temple construction arranged for the soil from Ambedkar's birthplace to be used as part of the Bhumi Pujan of the Ram Temple. They insisted that this bizarre act sent a message of "inclusivity". A few years later, the same enlightened folks looted the temple presumably to send a message of financial probity. In all this, Shri Ram had the last laugh.
The entire research premise is comically absurd. To know whether caste identity determines one's occupational choices, you need to study intersection between actual employment and respective caste intersection. Maybe, respondents knew that they were being taken for a ride.
Just read the interview, and give me a better example of communal gaslighting than this. Hindus are supposed to be at peace with a historiography which sees Aurangzeb's anti Hindu acts and policies from a 'nuanced' perspective, perceiving those as acts of 'pragmatic politics',
This is so vacuous. If one claims that Kant "plagiarized", it's necessary to show from which specific Indian texts he copied the ideas with strong evidence to show that he possessed these texts. Just because an obscure translation existed, it didn't mean Kant had access to it.
Indian Right Wing dismantling China's digital warfare on twitter is sooooooo crazyyyy. China's exaggerated development, caste system, civic sense all seems to have crumbled down. (Also it must be remembered, the Indian Left went against India in this digital fight)
The north south divide is so artificial. We are all the same people from Sindhu Saraswati Civilization onwards across the Indian Subcontinent. It’s seen in the cultural remains (pottery, images of bull, Shiva lingams, and goddesses) and our genetic history. Our ancestors are so smart they made sure we preserved our heritage.
“He has anchored Indias perception of itself in a worldview rooted in Indian heritage, not western secularism.”
What is wrong with this? Why should India divorce itself from its own heritage and define itself by yardsticks that have no civilisational basis in India?
There has been no conflict between temporal and ecclesiastical power in India, as in the West.
Interestingly, the Enlightenment in the West has “pagan” Greek roots.
Hindu civilisation is inherently secular.
The secularism debate in India is political, rooted in the partition of the country on the basis of religion and the political need to integrate the Indian Muslims in an independent India.
Western ideas of secularism have been artificially planted in India and have created political, social and religious dissensions in our country.
The burden of being “secular” in India should be shared equally by all religious communities. But is it the case?
European and US societies have deep Christian roots. Europe defines its roots as Judeo-Christian. It has powerful Christian lobbies that exert influence in their societies as well as colour the European world view.
The Evangelists in the US, the global power of the Catholic church, the religious activities of the Presbyterians- and all have been active in conversions in India- call into question “western secularism”.
Western societies have an understanding of Abrahamic religions but cannot intellectually and politically connect with Hinduism and hence the obsession with the caste system, cow worship and perceived social ills.
More can be said.
Erik Solheim may mean well but the phrase “Hindu nationalism” is a wrong term that distorts reality and carries a negative connotation.
India wants to be India, defined by its own civilisation and not western idioms.
That Ilia Topuria documentary is actually insane the way he views life the way he trains his mindset towards his opponent. I haven’t see anything like it he is like a robot with a cold blooded mindset. I don’t see how this niggas loses man he’s way too locked in even with fame
“Men have sacrificed and crippled themselves physically and emotionally to feed, house, and protect women and children. None of their pain or achievement is registered in feminist rhetoric, which portrays men as oppressive and callous exploiters.”
Camille Paglia
Once again today people are angry about a provocation on Shivaji Maharaj. But ask this - can you think one a single non-Western person who would ever be quoted like this as ‘authority’ on any Western historical subject? No. Now some will say because non-Westerners have no
